Free throw shooting is a problem but there is no strategy you can employ to off set your deficiamcy while you may be able to make up somewhat for your poor three point shooting. But Pitino has always been in love with it.

Took in the game with Redmen.com originals Golden Leaf and DC Redmen. Pat was/is a legend on the many different iterations of this site. Reminiscing about the good old days with Pat and Ray was priceless. They represent the DMV contingent well.

Fantastic turnout at Irish Channel pregame.
Many diehards supporting our Johnnies, led by the man the myth Caesar himself.

Great win with great friends. Looked for a while we were going to have a 41-9 flashback in our favor.
What a treat to finally spend time with Kent! So much fun...and a sweet win. Thanks for coming up Kent!!

Our help defense is text book solid.
When you have long, quick guys who can defend at any position, it makes it damn near impossible to get an easy bucket on offense. It’s been on full display for the most part the last month or so. Switching off is not a big deal when your point can guard like your center.

To me, this team can only gel. The shooting might be an issue, but if you can hold your opponents to under 60 points, it negates that issue.

Call me crazy but I think our shooting improves. I think we have a couple of guys who have the ability to increase their current three point percentages in Luis, Wilcher, Scott and Smith. Also, if Glover settles in more as the season goes on he can shoot it. We won’t shoot 40% but we can improve from 26% to 33% and that’s enough.

Wilcher’s shots looked good…just not falling. Shoot right through this slump.

Prey had a really nice reverse layup. I didn’t know he had that in the toolbox. He will be driving at will next year. 3 assists too (all to Vince?).

Glover can really shoot it, but, man, they were salivating when he took it over half court.

Weirdest ST John’s team in my lifetime. They play hard and great D and one of the most successful teams to this point in program history. I want to sit back and enjoy finally making the tournament. But a weird thing for me is as the wins pile up, I can help but be skeptical that our main deficiencies outside shooting and foul shooting will prevent a long tournament run.
I really want to just enjoy this, but with each game my concern grows.
