Alibegovic the difference

Not really. My vote goes to Ponds and Mussini. Am I crazy or is Federico's defense improving? Even penetrating more this year. Granted Alibecovig was needed when our big men came down with injuries and fouls but he had no rebounds and had two passes surprise him and bounce off his chest. Ellison helped with the rebounding playing 34 minutes. Was waiting for Mussini to get back in the game in the second half while we still had Owens and Williams. Kept us in the game in the first half, finishing the game with 16 points. Call me crazy again but we need Ahmed's boards and scoring. Don't know if we survive losing this game. G'town is terrible along with their weak coach.
The bump by Hayes reminded me of John Thompson seniors dirt bag teams.

You're not crazy. Mussini has improved on defense. He works his ass off on d and he neither gets pushed around (looks he has kept the weight on this season) and has maybe even gained half a step. Regardless no one is blowing by him, and he doubled down a few time to create steals.

Now, for the asses who say he can't shoot, he has a very fast trigger, and needs very little room to catch and shoot. He's streaky but when he lights it up can hit 2 or 3 bombs in multiple possessions. Is he as good as Ponds or Lovett? No way, that would be as isiotic as saying he can't shoot. But he is an extremely valuable role player and without him.today, we don't win - period.

I believe he made 2 layups, including a sneaky quick cut off an inbounds late. 4 star day.

Considering that we lost to this same team by almost 30 points a few weeks ago, I'd call this a major step forward.

I still have lots of things to b*tch about--for instance, the inexplicable stretches of Lovett on the bench and the fact that Alibegovic sees more than 60 seconds on the court.

But still, if we don't win another game this season, I'd be OK with that. The rebuild is working.

We could still easily loose by 30 to this team(or any team) in the Big East tournament, So I'll take today game as a great win, but not anything more than that,

No question this team will surprise you and disappoint you this year and we aren't done with that. But all in all this has been a really fun team that doesn't fold just because the pressure is on.

Good job as usual Fun!
My only criticism is the reference in the paragraph that included the following: "it expresses consideration for the time and effort it’s taken the practitioner to perfect her art and to encourage her to practice it more often."

Men, especially a couple of posters here, are just as capable of practicing and perfecting that "art".
I mention this only because, when discussing St. John's games, the word suck is used so much that perhaps, as long suffering fans, we have become conditioned to disappointment. Some of us may be suffering from fellatio phobia where we enjoy the game but fear or expect something awful to happen. We expect to lose or as in our phobia, we fear he or she may bite it off right before climax.

BTW on a sidetone it's time next year for Johnnyfan and Monte to join msg 114. Politically they will cancel out each other ( not that it matters much in 114 because the only people we usually hate are the refs )

I've sat and constipated over that idea for a while, but 2 things that are preventing me from doing that are:

1. My midcourt seats are pretty damn good, and:
2. I found out today that the guy who has season tix right in front of me for the past 2 years is a fellow Xavier alum

and at the next St. J's-Xavier game you plan to garrote him. ;) :)

1. Mussini was the man today but for that bad inbound pass.
2. Ali came through with some nice plays but his butter fingers are killing me and still I don't understand how he gets so many minutes, he is the most awkward looking player on the floor and just doesn't seem to mesh I'm not sure if his good plays today outweighs the risk of keeping him on the floor.
3. We should have been up 20 plus points throughout the game with all the turn overs
4. Mullin out coached JTIII, I'm not sure if he should get more time to turn around the G- Town program but I do feel for him he has big shoes to fill. Like SJU a strong G-Town only helps the conference and both teams. I hope to see both these teams ranked in the near future.
5. Ponds is a true NyC play ground player, he has some real potential if directed properly by the staff.

I dont quite comprehend all the hate on ali. True if he were 6.5 he wouldn't see the floor, but at his ht he is pretty agile, and despite no rebounds today had 2 blocks and one steal.

If you want to dislike him, do it because we dont have a deeper front court that would take his minutes away. Today at least, once Owens went down, take Ali away and we probably lose.

Ali gave some good minutes today, especially with Tariq out and Yakwe in foul trouble. His steal with about 2 mins left was the play of the game IMHO.

Since it's unlikely Patrick Ewing will get a pro head coaching job, perhaps he'd consider coaching at Georgetown. They sure do need a change.

I write from personal experience, As usual, your mucilage may vary.

Whoa.....I am honored. Plus, with Monte staying put, I could tip the scales left.

That's why i would put it that SP is the player we've had with the most pure BB talent since Ron Ron. Different players of course but the best pure player since then.

Another game that probably would have gone the other way without the improvement in foul shooting.

Hi Johnny
I never met any
Poster and hence do not know personal style, preferences, history, connections w other posters.
Leaning left you/MJMAHERJR indicate?
From years as a soldier and in the court system, I've never met a right leaning guy shift left as the years went by
But I have, however,
Met left leaning folks who "saw the light"
As they aged
And shifted right...
And
So there's hope for you Johnny
lol
Realistically, I do get it,
Each should lean the way intended
:)

I expect Monte from what you post - to send me a thank you
For my "cogent" observations here
From the right of course

Also and I don't know if this was mentioned on the thread previously and granted it was georgetown but yesterday was the perfect example of why I don't want less games played at the garden. Brought a friend of mine to the game who is a casual SJU fan and as were were walking in ( right after getting some bronx pale ales ) that he mentioned how there is always an electricity to the garden and how going to msg feels like you are going to an event.

The crowd was great yesterday and even when there have been smaller crowds this year I think they have been pretty loud
