Georgetown, Sat. Feb. 25, Noon, YES&FOX/570

Refreshing to have a team that can shoot free throws. Very nice win. So much tangible improvement over last year and from earlier his year. It is a process and we need to keep acquiring players but it is going the right way.

This sums up my feelings exactly. I read the thread after getting back from the game and it is amazing how negative it is. Everyone makes mistakes but I don't root against any of our players. I hope they all come back and improve. Today, Ali gave us valuable minutes with Owens hurt, and Williams and Yakwe in foul trouble.

Two great posts. Almost everyone knew fans had to be patient in year one. The team is just about 500 post November. We have to feel good about it.

Yes patience.
Thanks.
Great happy posts above, nice to see :)

How about NCAA, Elite Eight, Final Four between 2017 and 2020...
Why not!

all the best...
Boy you read fast. Evelyn Wood? ;) :)

What a friggin game!!!! Love beatin GT, always have. Awesome game by my paeson and all the kids. Lets face it, with the exception of me and Fun everyone else had pretty much written Mussini(SIC?) off. In addition to the big W, got to see and speak with Paultz and Panther pre-game, the boys from section 114(Mike Maher 2X), TheoRab in Penn station, and a few of my high school buddies plus DaveRuss and his lovely parents. Been celebrating since the 17-0 run in the first half, and don't plan on stopping anytime soon.

I missed the game since I dvr'd a fox sports channel that I don't have access to....if anyone finds a link to the full game on the intrawebs, could you post? Thanks all!

Just got back from the game and I'm still on cloud nine. Although from the middle of the first half until the break, I was on cloud one, as the Hoyas went on a 19-2 run.

Some of my observations, and I know some of this has already been said:

Ponds had a great game. Congrats to the kid for scoring his 500 points as a freshman. This kid can only get better.

Lovett seemed a little off tonight. I know that sounds somewhat ridiculous about someone who scored 11 points.

To echo Jack, do my eyes deceive me, or has Federico gotten a little faster, both on defense and offense? I loved his game today.

Yakwe and Ellison. Well, what else is there to say.

I know a lot of posters were gushing about Ahmed, and yes, he did have 16 points and 5 rebounds in 25 minutes of play. I'm glad for him. But he still seemed more out of control than in control. Most of his field goals seemed forced to me.

I hope Tariq is able to play sooner, rather than later. We need him in that lineup.

Good coaching job by our guys; poor coaching job by JTIII. I was quite surprised to see the "Fire JTIII!" sign unfold in the GTown section.

Bring on Creighton!

Great game today! My 5 year old may have heard me swear a few times near the end of the 1st half, but this is life. The important thing is that I felt more calm after talking it over with the boys of Section 114, and we came out of the locker room looking better.

Any word on Lovett sitting for a long stretch in the 2nd half?

hell I usually only see myself once a game in the bathroom mirror so it must have been a treat. LOL

I can't believe Lavin called out Johnnyfan on the postgame accusing him of stealing a shirt from a little kid from the tee shirt cannon :)

Has there been any update on Owens's injury?

Hopefully it's nothing serious. We need him

Sprained ankle per Mullin. Owen's father stated on twitter he sprained it and it's tender but no walking boot.

I have been saying all se as son, mussini needs more touches

I watched the last 4 minutes in a sports bar, as I couldn't wait to see what happened on the DVR. Those 4 minutes took about 30 minutes. The Big East needs to revisit the nonsense with the constant foul calls. Mussini got called for a bump late in the game that was so ridiculous it made Mussini, and me, cringe. Same stuff with Ali, with a nothing bump resulting in a G Town 3 point play, Enough already. If the bump doesn't get a player an advantage, let it go.

Considering that we lost to this same team by almost 30 points a few weeks ago, I'd call this a major step forward.

I still have lots of things to b*tch about--for instance, the inexplicable stretches of Lovett on the bench and the fact that Alibegovic sees more than 60 seconds on the court.

But still, if we don't win another game this season, I'd be OK with that. The rebuild is working.

We could still easily loose by 30 to this team(or any team) in the Big East tournament, So I'll take today game as a great win, but not anything more than that,

you pretty much nailed it. The win was great but Seton Hall and Providence winning after sucked some of my euphoria out
