Georgetown (MSG), Tues. Jan. 9, 6:30p, FS1/570AM

For what it's worth, the last time we made the tournament we started the Big East season at 1-4 with a loss to DePaul, the same place we will be if we win today. Season's not over yet, but today we need to get back on the right track.

The effort against Providence and DePaul were bad Depth is obviously an issue. However, I don't see why we can't win 7 or 8 BE games plus 1 in conference. I'm definitely not as optimistic as I was before, but DePaul is our only bad loss so far. Teams RPI is 50. It's still early January, and if we improve half as much as we did in the 2nd of last year we can still have a good year. Even with the depth issue we have more talent then we did last year.

Not quite ready to concede the Season yet. I’m close. Today’s game critical to maintain hopes of a decent outcome to the Season—being marginally ‘relevant’. We have to play under control and in sync as a team. Let’s go St. John’s!

Did that team have no bench???

Actually that team arguably had less depth than this one. We played a 6 man rotation (and that was when Obekpa & Jordan showed up) and Amar & Felix our 7th and 8th men played 8 or 9 mpg and averaged 2 points per game. We were 2-6 at one point in BE play but won 7 of last 9. Not saying this team can repeat that kind of comeback, but the lack of depth is not a difference between the two squads.

Interesting to see if get more than 8,000 for this game. Too bad I am expecting at the beginning of the year they were hoping for me.

For Saturday's game they just opened the chase bridge, cant wait to hang out with about 10,000 Villanova fans.

After all social media declared Hillary the victor with 97% % chance of election up to the day of the election, anything is possible. At least on this one, you and I are both hoping for the same team to win.

I am hoping for a surprise win because losing at the Garden is pretty bad PR for recruits. This is a game where both Alibegovic and Yakwe can make a difference if they play smart basketball. Hopefully two 6'9 Hoya players ( Muresan and Mourning) who are sons of former NBA stars don't outshine them because their talent has fallen very far from the paternal tree. Without Marcus this may be the last home game we have a chance of winning. Other than defend the 3 we need to drive and share the ball. Rebounding may continue to be a problem but I think we match up well in the department with Gtown.

You joke, of course, about Alibecovig making a difference. Have you missed the past 4 years?

Dancing machine :)

I have completely stayed out of the speculation on the injury but this is becoming a real joke. At minimum the lack of transparency is annoying. My wife asked me for sex last night and I told her I sprained my d*ck and am day to day.

Alibegovic and smart play should not be in the same sentence, no offense to him. Nice kid, but 4 years of acting like a 5-11 guard who make dumb fouls is enough for me. Check my posts, Ive had hope for him over the years.....that is all lost now. When he enters game my son and I both yell No!!!!

GT going against grain with these unis

TV announcers just said they believe Lovett is going to start practicing tomorrow. Great news, if accurate.

Yippee! Maybe just wanted to avoid Nova beat down on Saturday as it will take him time to get back to actually playing.
