Georgetown (MSG), Sat., Mar. 9, 12 Noon, FOX

Georgetown came ready to play today. You can tell they wanted to spoil our NCAA hopes. Coach Cooley will have that program back at the top before you know it. Despite terrible FT% and some moments of bad decisions with the ball, they closed out! We lose this game by 12 pts 1 month ago.

We are one win away from dancing!
I like a lot here don’t “like“ Cooley. However, he’s a helluva Coach and he will turn G’Town around. That’s a good thing for the Conference. Also good for us from a rivalry standpoint. Especially after Yukon leaves again for football.

I’m not saying Cooley isn’t going to get it done but he had the same access to the portal as Rick. I suspect a higher NIL budget. If SJU had the year Georgetown just had everyone here (including yours truly) would be losing their stuff.

Just finished watching the DVR of the game after golf this morning. Had friends and family texting me, but did not look. Honestly, reading this message board kept me sane throughout the game. After the early lead, I thought the team got tight as Georgetown kept it close. Great job by Jenkins, Luis, Ledlum, Soriano and Dingle, among others, to bring home the win.

When I got home from golf, I immediately changed into the same shirt that is 5-0 on this run. It will be ready to go for the BET!!
Don't wash the shirt
It will undo the good karma that the shirt has brought us

True and fair enough. Tough to judge everything on the first year. I also don’t think he’s Rick Pitino. I think we all agree we will see them again soon.

Cooley's a very good coach, but he ain't Rick. Few are or have ever been. Actually Few is one of the few who comes close. lol.

A word on Luis, I was not in the “if he learns to play the right way” camp but I think I was wrong about that.
He has two things you just cannot teach, he ALWAYS plays hard and he absolutely has no conscience, which makes him completely fearless of the moment. He made 4 plays down the stretch that impressed the hell out of me, in no particular order.
First, the steal after missing the two foul shots, no hanging of the head, no pissed off head first dive into the guy but a keep sliding your feet, square up and flick the ball when the offensive player crosses over.
Then, the two assists down the stretch. On the alley oop to Soriano, the key was keeping his poise and waiting until Alleyne cleared the weak side help by cutting up to the foul line. You don’t wait, it’s TO city, either via a steal or a charge. On the pass to Ledlum out of the double team, he kept his head up, no panic, and delivered a strike for the easy dunk.
Finally, staying with the crazy scoop shot for the follow up lay in. Had to get the ball on the rim to avoid the shot clock violation but stayed with it and no show time crap, laid it in off the backboard completely under control.
I have not been a fan but give credit where and when it’s due, he stepped up BIG TIME with good basketball plays with the whole season on the line. 👏👏👏
Kudos for admitting you were wrong. Luis puts all of us on roller coasters. Lol

You must have missed my post today praising Luis, and all the resulting shit I got from everyone for being critical of him all season.
You're missing my point t. I was taking you and the other poster . You guys arguing like kids. We won the game we are 19-12 smile relax.

Rjnluis been hurt most of the year remember that but who cares are are 19-12 11 wins in the big east. Who ever thought we would say that 2 years ago. Before Rick our program was a perennial bottom dweller relegated to games at carnessexs. Today we had 14k at the garden

On way back to the game after some delicious Korean BBQ. Only things to add from me:

— Atmosphere was awesome. The crowd was dying to get into this game, but stupid plays + Georgetown shots kept us out of it. But I was impressed by the energy. It was a lot of fun (too much, I’d say). Hoya fans deserve credit for showing up too.
— Luis showed his potential today. He’s done this other games too, but you can argue he carried us the second half. I really hope he stays. I think one more full year under Rick can make him more under control and see his teammates more on offense.
— BEAST said it but Ledlum is unsung hero of game. Brilliant effort. One of these ivy guys have to be smart enough to sue the ncaa for that additional year of eligibility, sign me up asap for Ledlum.

One pessimistic note I’ll say. I’m afraid Marillac may be right, in that we (including me) have read too much into this streak. We are the same team as the beginning of the season. In this streak, we struggled the most versus Georgetown. Why? Because they’re the most athletic compared to Creighton, butler and DePaul. I’m nervous that this streak overshadowed our clear deficiencies, and we will be let down next week. Can you tell I’m a Mets fan yet?

Also thank you to Rick Pitino for making the Johnnies the best value ticket in town. Knicks games are obnoxiously expensive. Can’t wait to get season tickets next year.

He decided to focus on freshman rather than the portal. Has a strong class coming in next year, he will get it done.

I'm very very loose. In fact, I'm renowned for my looseness
