Georgetown (MSG), Sat., Mar. 9, 12 Noon, FOX

Yes, all those posters who complained Daniss was not good enough, shot too much, was not a pg, should not start, etc, etc.—for forgiveness, please raise your hand and say a mea culpa rosary.
Hair shirts available since I don’t pray? 😇

Great recovery by RJ after feeling the pressure of 2 big missed free throws. Strong finish to clear his head and make the next two.

Ledlum does all the dirty work. He gets boards that he shouldn't at his size and is making great decisions when he gets offensive bounds

Jenkins was flat out great.

A word on Luis, I was not in the “if he learns to play the right way” camp but I think I was wrong about that.
He has two things you just cannot teach, he ALWAYS plays hard and he absolutely has no conscience, which makes him completely fearless of the moment. He made 4 plays down the stretch that impressed the hell out of me, in no particular order.
First, the steal after missing the two foul shots, no hanging of the head, no pissed off head first dive into the guy but a keep sliding your feet, square up and flick the ball when the offensive player crosses over.
Then, the two assists down the stretch. On the alley oop to Soriano, the key was keeping his poise and waiting until Alleyne cleared the weak side help by cutting up to the foul line. You don’t wait, it’s TO city, either via a steal or a charge. On the pass to Ledlum out of the double team, he kept his head up, no panic, and delivered a strike for the easy dunk.
Finally, staying with the crazy scoop shot for the follow up lay in. Had to get the ball on the rim to avoid the shot clock violation but stayed with it and no show time crap, laid it in off the backboard completely under control.
I have not been a fan but give credit where and when it’s due, he stepped up BIG TIME with good basketball plays with the whole season on the line. 👏👏👏

Well that was not a fun game at all. Hopefully will serve as a wakeup call that every opponent is not DePaul.

Going to have to bring a lot more defensive intensity and share the ball a WHOLE lot better vs Creighton or the Hall on Thursday (counting chickens here).

One on one ball will not beat either of those teams.

Kudos to RJ for making every key play in the second half. Disappointing that the guards consistently fail to get Soriano the ball in the post but fortunately Ledlum, Dunlap and Luis seem capable of doing that (also Dingle when he gets to handle the ball some).

I told my lady friend, when Tim Brando stated (paraphrased), "The Johnnies may get tight late in the game if Georgetown stays close," that wouldn't be the case for Luis. I then said to her, "Because Luis has the mentality where he doesn't give a s**t and wouldn't tense up."

Don't forget his defense on Epps. Luis made him invisible down the stretch.

STATE OF THE JOHNNIES: We are back, relevant & a dangerous opponent; I foresee St. John’s playing a game next Friday night at the Garden followed by a long awaited NCAA appearance. The Johnnie’s have shown they are indeed NEW YORK’s College Team

We are a "last 4 in" already guys. Only major upsets in other conferences will affect our chances.

Disagree. If Providence wins today and then gets the 5 seed and beats SH then they look better than us. Lots of other bubbly type teams can go on runs and beat high ranked teams which would propel them past us.
