Georgetown game

Anyone know what happen between coach Keady and the geargetown player? Looked lie coach was going to have a stroke or tackle the kid.

In the new big east there's no one I hate nore than Creighton and GT. Its been a great week.

Creighton? Really? Then I'm guessing you don't have 20+ or 30+ ... or even 10+ ... years of Big East rivalries under your belt.

I agree. They have a long way to go to surpass providence, seton hall and nova.

McElbow gets away with WAY too much and still he complains about everything. The refs have been crazy calling any time an elbow gets to throat level. No calls on McElbow though despite the fact that he's done it sever times. Did get a call last year against Cincinnati for the same thing but this season he is untouchable. Pretty much every single time he is down low with the ball he's got an elbow in the defender's gut, chest or throat. Never gets called. The tall kid Artimo or whatever looked like he was going to cry when they were up 20 or so and he got called for a foul. The whole time mumbling and complaining as he walked to the bench. Gibbs was giving the ref a lecture. Literally looked like he was talking down to a two year old explaining things to him and smiling patronizingly. The refs for whatever reason buy it and don't get annoyed with it.

Whiniest team ever.

I don't disagree with that but he is a senior and we won't see him again. Maybe a rivalry will build but one year isn't enough to get it there for me.

On the train home most satisfying win of season. Ncaa talk is becoming real big week for sju

15-0 to start game. Waiting 30 years for that

It was unbelievable, wasn't it?

2.5 weeks ago I mentioned we were 3 1/2 games out of 3rd place. Now we are only .5 game back!!! Unbelievable turnaround. This one never was in doubt which to me shows how far this team has come.

I thought it was in doubt when the lead was cut to seven
took the easy way out and shut the TV for a while and paced the floors - "My bad" as my son says
great win
fun reading all these posts - thanks for all of them
do you think the Prince of North Philly has shut naysayers about his choice of schools?

I wish they'd replay the game - where I'm at it ended then switched away too soon

It's being replayed at 9am (EST) tomorrow.

Thank you MJD - on Fox I assume
"Poor me" I'll be in Aruba (though maybe they'll have it on satellite station - then the best of all worlds)
good feelings for the entire SJU family -
QUESTION I wonder if any top recruits were at the game!?!

Word was that Isaiah Briscoe and his family were going to be hosted by SJU. I assume he was there.

Yes he was along with Jessie Govan

Can you enlighten me about these two - have not been following recruiting and am intrigued - I assume they are top HS players (?) thank you!

Top 25 pg and top 50 center. Check out the recruiting sections for more info.

Just finished watching the game. Very satisfying win. We showed a lot of grit building the lead after they cut to 7. We are starting to show some maturity. I'm enjoying what's happening with the team right now. I was certainly down and feeling out after the Depaul game. We need to keep this up. We're no lock yet. We still have work to do...

I agree there is no rivalry. I wanted them to beat Nova as I felt it would give our guys a psychological edge but I felt dirty rooting for them. Just saying I've never seen a team collectively whine so much. Some Duke players were pretty big whiners over the years but as a team Creighton is special in that way.

Briscoe was behind the bench with I assume is his sister.

Great win.

The word "thug" gets thrown around too often in sports. But I'd like to know what Lubick is?

I have no problem with Sheed's windmill jam nor his celebration to end it.

We just returned the favor to a bunch of Georgetown kids who have been pinking us for years. I hope they remember this. They probably thought they'd just waltz into MSG and take it to us like Michigan State.

I tip my hat to. Lavin. I was hard on him at 0-5 but I have no problem giving credit where it's due. We're the hottest team in the conference and kudos to him.

Now it's time to curb stomp Butler.

Just got home from the game, that was an awesome one to be at. Good running into Moose before the game. Crowd was pretty good, students were pretty loud the whole game, crowd got a little quiet in the middle though when we were up so big, but understandably. Exciting time to be a fan of this team.

We've been prison raped by Georgetown for 30 years and people are complaining that we don't win with class. I love the trash talk because people have been doing it to us and we took it like pu$$ies for tool long. Now we are showing heart.

A painful visual Simplyred and some folks just do not remember the many games the hated Hoyas rubbed it in our faces until the last second of every game we lost to them. JT3's fornicating adulterous father was just as classless.
The wizard is starting to learn from his mistakes and letting Jordan off the leash has been a major boost for the team's offense. We saw glimpse of what it was like without him running the show when he collected his 3rd foul and Greene starting turning the ball over. Chris may not have been the offensive threat tonight but he made some excellent passes and what may never happen again, he led the team in assists! Great crowd for a cold Sunday night and kudos to the players and coaches for being smart and aggressive from start to finish.
I cannot recall from that long early season thread about the next SJ coach but was it the guy (I can't recall his name) from Manhattan College or one of the Hurley Girly boys? LOL!

One of the G-town players hit a high arcing jumper with the clock running down..
It looked like the G-Town player running down the sideline said something to the SJU bench, becuase Keady and a bunch of others went nuts immediately.

In addition to this great win tonite against the hated Hoyas...McDermott's performance against Nova also made Sampson's performance one week ago look so very impressive.

Kids drink a lot of milk in Nebraska. Excessive milk drinking leads kids to whine but when they win they bang that cowbell all night long!

I think those of us who sat through one of those 1980 whippings felt a tiny measure of exorcising some demons. Perhaps the slate has been wiped, and this team will be the one to rise up to something special. Perhaps they are already well on their way. The ride has been so satisfying.

A month ago, some here questioned the wisdom of scheduling a creampuff like Dartmouth during the Big East season. After an 0-5 start it was the Dartmouth game that broke the skid, allowed them to taste winning, and get their feet under them. If this was Lavin's idea, the wisdom of it could be called brilliant should this team continue this spectacular run.

WOW. HOW BOUT THOSE REDMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
Lavin has turned this team into a machine. Hey Hoyas payback is a real bitch huh? Suckers.

These kids are kicking ass, and big kudos to coach for switching to the 2-3 zone. Lets treat Butler the same way.

Never let a great thing end REDMEN, AND STAY BUSINESS LIKE. This feels so GOOD. This has to continue.

Celebrate slapping G-Town tonight, and onto Butler tomorrow. LETS GET MORE!!!!!!!!!!!

The only problem i had with this game.....why can't we win with a little class? I get it, this was a huge win, we are playing really well, and these are still kids out there. But after the Obekpa block, why can't he just run down the court instead of talking sh*t to the other player. The Jordan tomahawk....it was a great dunk and all, but why the need to pound your chest afterwards? I am all about getting excited, but there is a difference between playing with emotion and making yourself look like a punk.

And at the end of the day, even though we are playing our best ball right now, we still have a lot of work to do. If the tournament were to start tomorrow, we would be on the outside looking in.
Jumbo...not sure if you were at the game...But, GT was talking trash the whole night and tried to rough up Jordan after his early start...they got their come uppance
