Georgetown game

The only problem i had with this game.....why can't we win with a little class? I get it, this was a huge win, we are playing really well, and these are still kids out there. But after the Obekpa block, why can't he just run down the court instead of talking sh*t to the other player. The Jordan tomahawk....it was a great dunk and all, but why the need to pound your chest afterwards? I am all about getting excited, but there is a difference between playing with emotion and making yourself look like a punk.

And at the end of the day, even though we are playing our best ball right now, we still have a lot of work to do. If the tournament were to start tomorrow, we would be on the outside looking in.

You must've missed the last Georgetown game, they kept their starters in the entire time and pressed us all the way until the end. We also haven't played Georgetown close since the hardy year. They HAD IT COMING. I'd honestly agree with you if we were playing anyone else, Georgetown and Syracuse I accept that behavior against, no one else

Not to mention GT is down 20 and playing some half-assed full-court pressure; Lubick's aggressive foul on Obekpa; the half-tackle on Harrison…can't blame our guys for wanting to stick it to them at the end.

Some games you let it go; some games you rub it in. I have no problem with the latter tonight.

I hate when people call guys punks and thugs. Mostly targeting Dom. Let the kids play. I personally love when we talk trash and play with some swagger. If you don't like it go root for Wisconsin or some other team with no edge.

All you people who want to hate on this team need to jump aboard. Stop knocking our guys for every little stupid thing and start recognizing the good things they are doing. They are a team and everyone contributes. Knocking down your own players because you want to prop another one up is stupid!

No doubt!

Amen to that ... We've heard everything: from players transferring because they're unhappy, to the coaching staff's incompetence, to DLo's and Dom's thuggery, to Sanchez's laziness (never got that one, but it's typical: anoint an untested player an NBA-bound star and then shoot him down when he doesn't live up to expectations), and on and on and on. These guys are great to watch, and they sure do look anything but unhappy (or lazy!) to me. Kudos to them and to our coaching staff!

Just a fantastic win for our kids who have never beaten the hated Hoyas yet in their career. On our home Court and by 20 plus points. We could not ask for more as we march toward our goal which continues to remain alive and becomes more of a reality with each and every win.
A great, great win for the Johnies

2.5 weeks ago I mentioned we were 3 1/2 games out of 3rd place. Now we are only .5 game back!!! Unbelievable turnaround. This one never was in doubt which to me shows how far this team has come.

I thought it was in doubt when the lead was cut to seven
took the easy way out and shut the TV for a while and paced the floors - "My bad" as my son says
great win
fun reading all these posts - thanks for all of them
do you think the Prince of North Philly has shut naysayers about his choice of schools?

I wish they'd replay the game - where I'm at it ended then switched away too soon

I, usually agree with lots of stuff you say, but I thought we won with class. I don't believe we were trash talking the Hoyas. We just finished off the game.

Yes, we have lots of work to do, but tonight's win was big, and just allows us to keep moving forward. Thing is the season doesn't end tonight.

Enjoy the win.... We exacted revenge by whipping their arse.

Wisconsin is actually a very chippy team, but I get your point.

What's great is that there are still things this team can, and will, do better. Defensive rebounding, and avoiding out of control play with a big lead come to mind. We are a team on the rise with room for improvement. I really don't believe many saw this coming. Same players, same coach, different results. Learning to play as a team and the coming of age of Jordan. If he stays long enough, can be one of our all time greats.

Was that Jordan or Sanchez with the dunk? I thought it was Sanchez?
I don't blame the kids at all. The Gtown players were giving it right back to them, and they did got rocked last game. I really dislike Lubick. He can't even give a foul without being a douche. The guys on Georgetown all have arms twice as thick as our guys...it's crazy.

Sanchez had the two-handed dunk in the halfcourt, and Jordan had the tomahawk dunk at the end.

Love that out team has edge to them.... Name me one great team in any sport that didn't have a swagger and cockiness to them

Marillac you missed Jordans windmill? I told you before the season that this kid is as explosive as anyone on this team!

Awesome win! It was particularly satisifying to see Harrison kick butt -they had his number last couple of years, and he came right back. Jordan's a beast.
Onward!

I jumped up and LMAO after Jordan's dunk.

It was a fitting finish to a spankin'.

Thank you MJD - on Fox I assume
"Poor me" I'll be in Aruba (though maybe they'll have it on satellite station - then the best of all worlds)
good feelings for the entire SJU family -
QUESTION I wonder if any top recruits were at the game!?!

After Trawick fouled out he refused to sit on the bench and just stood right in a fans face. The fan asked him to sit or move and Trawick just didnt respond. The fan called security and they told Trawick to sit and he still refused. Then he got in a shouting match with the fan until security finally persuaded him to sit down. Guy is a total punk.

Jordan is a stud. I wouldn't trade Harrison for anyone closing out a game lately. He's money. Airtight handle...too strong to be denied on the inbounds or have the ball ripped away....and he is money from the line. That duo is absurd. All Harrison needed was a wingman.

47/49 from the line in the last 7 games. thats 7 points a game. Now that is big time!

He's playing out of his mind right now. With Jordan on the court, he can pick his spots instead of carrying the team. Who out there is better than him at drawing contact? His basketball IQ is amazing. I can't say enough about Harrison's game.

Great call by Coach to go to the zone. They were penetrating at will at the end...that was probably the only negative of the game. We outrebounded them 26-19 and held them to just six offensive rebounds. Great job. Sanchez probably played his best game tonight...much needed.

You're welcome, SS&G! Yes, it'll be on FS1.

I'm not sure about the recruits at the game, but I wouldn't doubt there was a recruit or two at tonight's game.
