Georgetown game

The only problem i had with this game.....why can't we win with a little class? I get it, this was a huge win, we are playing really well, and these are still kids out there. But after the Obekpa block, why can't he just run down the court instead of talking sh*t to the other player. The Jordan tomahawk....it was a great dunk and all, but why the need to pound your chest afterwards? I am all about getting excited, but there is a difference between playing with emotion and making yourself look like a punk.

And at the end of the day, even though we are playing our best ball right now, we still have a lot of work to do. If the tournament were to start tomorrow, we would be on the outside looking in.

Jordan is a stud. I wouldn't trade Harrison for anyone closing out a game lately. He's money. Airtight handle...too strong to be denied on the inbounds or have the ball ripped away....and he is money from the line. That duo is absurd. All Harrison needed was a wingman.

Life's too short to hate. Creighton and GT are competitors representing their respective schools, as are our Johnnies. Bask in the victory, embrace sportsmanship.

You must've missed the last Georgetown game, they kept their starters in the entire time and pressed us all the way until the end. We also haven't played Georgetown close since the hardy year. They HAD IT COMING. I'd honestly agree with you if we were playing anyone else, Georgetown and Syracuse I accept that behavior against, no one else

Thank you God! How sweet it is. Solid performances from Harrison and Jordan. I was so nervous before the game I couldn't even eat my wife's ziti with short ribs and Italian sausage.
Glad to see us rub it in these dirt bags. Key move by Lavin switching to zone after G'town rallied, especially paying particular attention to Smith and Starks.

Was that Jordan or Sanchez with the dunk? I thought it was Sanchez?
I don't blame the kids at all. The Gtown players were giving it right back to them, and they did got rocked last game. I really dislike Lubick. He can't even give a foul without being a douche. The guys on Georgetown all have arms twice as thick as our guys...it's crazy.

47/49 from the line in the last 7 games. thats 7 points a game. Now that is big time!

Not to mention GT is down 20 and playing some half-assed full-court pressure; Lubick's aggressive foul on Obekpa; the half-tackle on Harrison…can't blame our guys for wanting to stick it to them at the end.

Some games you let it go; some games you rub it in. I have no problem with the latter tonight.

2.5 weeks ago I mentioned we were 3 1/2 games out of 3rd place. Now we are only .5 game back!!! Unbelievable turnaround. This one never was in doubt which to me shows how far this team has come.

They each had one!

Wow... Great game crowd was great coaches had a great game kids performed... Just wow!!! Jordan an Harrison could be too 5 backcourt in nation right now!! Obekpa changed the game ....all pieces played well.... Where was branch? Still hurting?

A lot of bad blood with these 2 teams...Besides some of the dirty shots from Georgetown last game, these kids think they hurt Branch on purpose last game...Emotions were running high and these kids and Georgetown was egging it on as well

It's always awesome to kick Georgetown's butt and hurt their NCAA chances

As Marillac said, Harrison needed a wingman. The whole story is that for their first two years and a few months of this year, this team with highly talented individuals ALL needed a wingman (point guard). If might have been Branch in their second year, but he got hurt and never showed his best profile anyway.
But this is the norm. It's not just St John's. The college game 95% of the time starts with having an excellent point guard. You can cover for most failings everywhere but at point guard. In the pros, everyone is so good they can exploit a weakness anywhere, but in college there are enough defenses and capabilities to compensate for anything but the point guard. Thank God we have one of the good ones...potentially great some day.
