Hope I am wrong but I think we have a diffucult time against a deeper bigger opponent. And, they have good athletes to match up against our athletes. They will play very tough defense making it difficult for us to sustain over entire game. The kids will be gassed, and if we hang in the game we might lose at end because of tiredness. Can our limited bench give us anything? Possible that we have another Herculean game by d Angelo, pointer and rysheed but I wouldn't bet on it against g town. We'll play hard, and coach will coach as best as he can, and we'll root like crazy as fans an alumni, but just doesn't look like a great matchup to me. Hoping I am wrong!!!!
 
Think Gtown will play zone against us for the most part. Something we have been able to play well against this year. Need dom to keep up his great play.

We need to have one of those shooting nights that we had against Providence is Georgetown comes out in a zone.

I agree Mase. Thompson has zoned us the past few years, he'll do the same tomorrow.
Lately we've looked better against the zone, an active dom is a big reason why.

Its funny, I used to pray that teams would come out and man us, right now I kind of look forward to the zone. Dlo seems to always get some good looks against it.
 
This isn't a game I expect to win but neither was Xavier so I'm ready to root hard for our guys go johnnies!
 
Not to look ahead, but SH guard Gibbs was ejected for throwing a punch/forearm in the game with Villanova tonight. May be he does not play next game vs. SJU.

I think we should drive more early go against smith and see if we can get 2 fouls on him early and hopefully foul him out in the 2nd half If we drive be ready to kick it out for 3

I would have given it serious consideration but ducked out to the Keys for a few days. I hope Lavin isn't recruiting hard this month. Warm weather schools would win every recruiting battle.

Thanks! Having dinner on Sunset Key tonight early, then a stroll up Duval. There is a Bourbon St. bar, that should be mobbed beyond belief. I like Sloppy Joes. Weather will be warm today, and then a plunge in temps. Key West - one of the awesome places in the US - a real blend of New Orleans meets the Caribbean.

This is the first true "house money" game for this program since @Marq in 2011. We had just won 4 of 5 to get to 15-9 (7-5), including wins v. Duke, UConn, and @Cincy. It was a crazy schedule not that unlike this one - played UConn home Thursday, @Cincy Sunday, and then had to turn around for @Marq Tuesday. When we beat Cincy, Marq became total gravy before regrouping for Pitt at the Garden the following Saturday.

The rest is history. The Marq win triggered a series of rollover house money games as we kept on winning, closing the regular season 10-2.

Hoping we start a similar domino effect tonight. That building has been an absolute house of horrors for us, we are due to get one. Agree with others on this thread, game plan is similar to X, you can do whatever you want defensively in the half court but nothing will be as impactful in taking their bigs out of the game as running.

I'm frankly more concerned with Smith-Rivera. We've struggled more containing dominant lead guards (even in wins) than anything else defensively, and he's just about as polished and well-rounded as they come. Mitigating him is our best chance to be in position to steal one tonight.
