Georgetown 1st Game

Honestly, I get why you're afraid of Josh Smith, but let's not get crazy.

In his past 5 games, he's averaging under 20 min, about 6.5 points and about 4 rebounds a game. He's fouled out of 2 of those games.

Bad memories fromUCLA and him kicking our ass

Key for every remaining game......DLO's health.

CO's health also JohnnyFan. It's good that Alibigovic has become a contributor and Branch was amazing today. With Balamou also we have a decent 8 man rotation but we can't afford any injuries to any of our top 5 guys. The health of this team going forward is paramount.

Got to keep the extended bench involved.

Let's keep the rotation at 7, not 8.

couldn't agree more, the Balamou experiment is over barring heavy foul trouble. The JDR experiment is also in the books.

Obekpa starting, Alibevogic and Branch off the bench. Balamou in very spot minutes. Should be able to ride that one out the rest of the way.

When it mattered we took Stainbrook out of the game - by denying him the ball and running 'till he had to sit down. Smith presents exactly the same issues. Problem is, we won't dominate their guards the way we did Xavier's. Smith-Rivera's a beast and is my biggest concern.

Interesting that Xavier didn't just beat G'town twice, they whacked 'em.

Exact;y right. The trick wasn't just to figure how how to play stainbrook the trick was to tire him out and take him off the court. Same thing with Smith. No half court BS. Run them into the ground and sprinkle in our subs enough to give our guys breathers

Haaa. Damn we were all out in Cali for that game

Announcer on the Nova vs. Butler game just said "St. John's finds a way into the Tournament with their talent". I hope so! Big Dog says "Yes!"

give big dog a bone for me today. I took us and the points today

Yet we've won 3 in a row with him starting and Obepka barely breaking a sweat. We need minutes from the bench, we just can't wear out 5 guys

I'm heading to D.C. for the game. Anyone else making the trip ????

I'm thinking about it. If I work out taking off on tuesday I will let you know

Tall task to beat Gtown on the road. I'm hoping for the best, but let's try to stay level if we can't pull it off. We still get them at MSG.

Manifest Destiny...we are making the tournament.

we haven't beaten Georgetown in DC since 2003 when Marcus Hatten was on the team. Most of the losses have been by double digits. This is a very tough one to get.

Agree that this will be tough. That said, I noticed recently the talented GT freshmen have slowed down a bit & I am hoping our quickness can rattle them & make this a close one. We'll see.

If I remember that game correctly we were down like 15 points late and stormed back to win. Hatten was so good!

If DeAngelo is healthy I expect another close game that goes down to the wire. Hope we can steal it.

It is about the time where the freshman wall comes into play. That could help.

Most important thing is to make sure DLo and CO are healthy for a VERY important 3 game homestand starting next weekend.

2003 huh? Streaks are made to be snapped. It's about that time.
