Just put in the STJ classes along side the GTown classes. So essentially by consistent you mean he didn't poop the bed in 2014? Other than that please feel free to talk about the vast differences in the recruiting classes.

Just paper comparisons. Gtown has had more recent success and a better program going forward. At best, we are essentially starting over next year. Personally, I don't care about recruiting rating stars, I care about results.

JT3 is on the same level as Lavin. Gets top recruits, can't help them in anyway. Unless you are 7 foot of course. Except JT3 gets into the tourny, then gets owned

Since they made the Final 4 in 2007, they are probably the most disappointing post season team in college basketball.

they have lost to a 15 seed and a 10 seed when they were seeded 2
they have lost to a 14 seed and an 11 seed as a 3 seed
they have lost to an 11 seed as a 6 seed

I think its fair to bring up is JT3 immune since he made a Final 4, or will he start to feel the heat because of his overwhelming failures in the postseason?

JT3 seems to have gone away from the "modified Princeton" offense that he always employed.

I always thought that was a big reason for his early NCAA exits, since by nature, it keeps lesser teams in the ballgame. A lot of these lower seeded teams are senior laden, so they are smart, and have played together for a long time. Throw in a few more things going right for them, and in the end, you have an upset.

That being said, it was a big part of his final four run, and his success in the old Big East. Teams like us (but not only us, even the big boys) generally like to play up and down. JT3 would slow it down regardless of if he had numbers or not, and it would just drive the more talented teams (who were usually on the younger side) mad.

Like I said, he seems to be moving away from it this year. It will be interesting to see what the final results will be.

Not disputing that but that wasn't the point was it, nor was US's follow up point referred to at all in his original post. Plenty of good constructive criticism to go around. Just find it hard to let BS criticism slide. That doesn't mean I'm a Lavin lover, just means I'm rational.

But does the seat ever warm up for him?

I think that eventually if the lack of success in the postseason continues the fans would start to get mad.

I don't know. Maybe he knows it, and that's why he's changing the style up a bit this year.

I do think that Craig Esherick, his predecessor, was the coach most hated by his own fans in the history of the Big East Conference (top 4 at least, along with Mahoney, Gordon Chiessa, and Oliver Purnell). The fact that JT3 is not Esherick got him a lot of popularity points in DC, and his immediate success got him more.

I do think they were dissapointed by last year, but the team seems to have recovered nicely.

If you discount the year that Lavin had cancer and didn't coach the team (and you hold off on jumping to conclusions about this year), JT3 has made the dance one more time than Lavin during the years that Lavin has been here. Everyone agrees that he has a better University and program to recruit to. That is rather underwhelming, no?

There has been plenty of calls for his head from gtown fans

My initial point was exclusively about JT3 and the Georgetown program. As routine will have it, with any compliment of an opposing coach, comes the inevitable rescue of Steve Lavin.

That said, in response to your post, you can not omit the 2014 class and then compare. What's the sense of that? The 2014 recruiting class was devastating to all momentum and, for these seniors, unforgivable. By the way, given the number of available scholarship we have for 2015, Lavin is really playing with fire (again) with these late signings.
