Georgetown 1st Game

I have no interest in bashing SL's coaching after this game.
He didn't help matters, but he didn't make them worse. Our guys are hurt and not playing well. Not his fault.


BUT, the big difference between us and Georgetown is that when they go to their bench they bring in Hopkins and White, and we bring in Felix and Amar. Their bench is far more talented.
Their freshmen Leak,White, and Copeland are all contributors.

We have no depth, and last year's recruiting results are a big reason why. I like Felix, Amar, and Joey but we needed stronger reinforcements.

Pretty funny. You don't want to bash SL, but, and a big BUT, you do.

I said his coaching. He didn't coach this team to a loss today, not his fault.

But you cant watch this game and not think that we're short-handed, and that our bench is a clear step down from the 6th, 7th, and 8th men that georgetown is bringing into the game.
It is what it is. Im not trying to bash him for no reasons, its just obvious watching this game that we couldve used better reinforcements this season.

Coaching-wise, he really hasn't been bad this season. At least during the games.
I don't know what goes in practices, but in-games he's been fine. We haven't seen any late game situations like with hooper, or ridiculous lineups. Starting felix and then joey has been slightly uncoventional, but certainly theres a good argument for it, and it makes some sense.

Our bench was exposed today, but it is what it is. We move on, and we still have a good chance to make the tournament, our destiny is in our own hands as they say.

Not our night. Could not hit a shot, sloppy with the ball, defense was porous down low, which in turn lead to open threes.

Yep. He's never played well at MCI or against them period 'til last season at MSG. Actually, he did play fairly well against G'town during his freshmen season at MCI. We were just outmanned with a short rotation and that group being so, youthful. I haven't looked, but I believe he had 23 points that day.

We win by double-digits against G'town in 2 weeks. Yep, I said it!

It is a risk of course but we need him healthy. And if sitting him until next Tuesday helps I'd do it

We all, or most of us agree the staff left a big hole in the roster. If the kids gatta turn themselves inside out to hit their goal it would be a special accomplishment. Go Storm.

agreed, but imo st. john's needs to win 3/4 in the games against xavier and georgetown. i think our team is going to have an awfully hard time making the tournament if they drop 6 games to villanova, butler, and georgetown.

We just gotta take it one game at a time. Health is a priority. I'm a bit baffled by tonight. We were up 19-17 and looked fine and then we just collapsed. Strange. I don't know what to make of it but let's just move forward
