This is the first season I can remember being confident when the T. John's player goes to shoot foul shots.

3rd in the league foul shooting!

Sorry to create a new topic, but this can be a sticky:

Rasheem Dunn said Coach Mike Anderson has talked to the team about "giving St. John's fans what they've been waiting for."

Man, that is about the best thing I've heard a coach here say in a very long time.   Hard not to be1000% behind these guys.

I know Rothstein rides the crests but goosebumps nonetheless

Great win!!!

i remember reading the early scouting reports on Moore. "He tries to dunk everything". Boy were they right and I love it. Throw it DOWN!!!!!

also many smart posters said let Watson get his and limit everyone else. SPOT ON!!!

Did any of y'all noticed Cooley's gait while leaving the court?  That's the walk of someone who is ticked.  His ball club might be running wind sprints and gasses right about now, lol.
Has done a good job with Providence but absolutely a sore loser...barely shook Lavin's hand back in the day,..BTW, Lavin was one of th most gracious in defeat...may not be a quality you want to be know for but nonetheless very good sport

Monster 2nd half by Dunn.  Great bench effort today. Champ and Posh, enough said. On to Butler!!!

That's cool!  The team sent him gear for Christmas.  Lavin still loves the Johnnies, as he's generally talking us up on Fox.
Coach would have every reason to have some hard feelings, but he has been totally a class act and it's hard not to like him b=very much for him publicly rooting for us since he left.

Love being the team nobody wants to play.

Are we good or what? After leading by 17 in the first half how easy would it have been to fold after falling behind by 5 in the second half. Talk about confidence.
Another road win.
If I was coaching the Friars today Watson would have touched the ball every time on offense.
Alexander 21 pts. and 4 assists. This freshmen is playing like a 5 star player.
Champagnie continues to be outstanding with 24 pts. and 10 boards.
Dunn played suberb today with 13 pts. and 10 assists, made some key passes at the end of the second half.
Once Moore gets the ball down low we can count on his scoring.
Excellent bench contributions: Moore - 9, Earlington - 9, Wusu - 8, Williams - 6.
Coach Anderson for coach of the year in the Big East.

just laughed out loud yet again!

Just finished watching the game on my DVR. In addition to everything that's been said, two things stood out to me:

1. Tremendous defensive effort. We held Gillespie to almost nothing during the week and today Duke was held in check throughout the game and was a total non factor.

2. Tremendous team character. We built a big lead in the first half, took Providence's best punch on the chin in their building, didn't flinch a bit and built the lead back up. That speaks volumes about the faith these kids have in themsleves and each other.

I just love watching the grit and determination that this team plays with. Kudos to the kids and to CMA and his staff for believing in themslves even when they were 1-5 in the league and the season could just have easily gone in the toilet. Now, we are heading towards the throne!!!

Another fun stat to relish. As of right now, immediately after the Providence game, the only two teams with more Big East wins than us are Creighton with 9 and Seton Hall with 8.

And, no other team in the Big East has more than our overall win total of 13. Creighton and us are tied in overall wins with 13. Of course that could change after Creighton's game against Marquette going on now. To me, this is even more to be excited about! :)

St John's put together an impressive game. It's nice seeing all the hard work pay off.

They can't relax yet. It's important to finish the season strong.
