Ken Pom sees the light!  About three weeks ago, Ken had SJU losing every game for the rest of the season.  To be honest, I thought he was a bit pessimistic, but Ken's predictions are usually pretty accurate.  As of this morning, Ken with all the statitistics to back up his predictions, has SJU going 4-2 over the remaining six games of the seasons finishing 16-10, 10-9.  The losses are to Nova and the Hall.  I'm sure the wildcats have that game circled on their calendars, so that one could be ugly.

Glad I got that off my chest.  Next up on my agenda, the Virtual Sellout!!!!

So here's the deal with those "predictions", statistically, is he wrong with the prediction of us losing all our games, or right because he changed his mind? Obviously, and just my opinion, I put no stock in them. Most of us could pick winners and losers and come up with a good percentage, it is the corner cases and updates, like what SJU is doing now that makes predicting sports impossible.

Weirdest play of the game - Posh called for an offensive foul when he shot and made a trey
I don't think I have ever seen a 3 point shooter whistled for an offensive foul on his shot
When I heard the whistle, I figured it would be a defensive foul and a chance at a 4 point play

Watching the replay, that call irked the heck out of me.

I totally agree,  Posh had released the ball be fore any contact took place.  In addition, I thought the rule was that an offensive player was supposed to be given room to come down to avoid undercuts by the defender.  All I could think at the time was that we would end up losing by 1 or 2.

you are partially correct.the other part is the offensive player needs to keep his legs in astraight downward motion when coming down to land. They can not be extended into the defenders landing area.

hi, great conference road win.
i watched the game 'live". then when the game ended, i read the redmen comments entered while the game was on. then read the box score.
i know most comments are made in the "heat of the moment", where opinions are formed dribble by dribble.
based on the words entered during the game, i expected to see dunn log 45 minutes and champ log 25 minutes.
i was surprised to see that champ lead the team with 34 minutes played and dunn had 33 minutes.
at 2pm i followed the game online. then my florida fs1 station showed the game from the beginning on tape delay. while the score was actually 7 to 5. trickey, trickey.

Posh literally kicked the defender on the way down, tripping him and initiating contact after the shot.  My only question is, that occurred long after the shot was released.   Why didn't the basket count?

Watching the highlights and top plays from the school's feed, we had more energy, hustle etc.

great to see

Never thought I would think, say or type this, but aside from the Nova revenge game (on their part, thankfully), I can see this team winning out, Nova excluded.  Not that they can't drop a few.  However, right now, they are clicking on most cylinders, giving us the hope that has been absent for years, it seems.  I agree, the focus has to be on the next game, in this case Butler, but it sure is nice to look a bit ahead and see what's possible.  Go Redmen!!

While we appreciate and welcome the content some of our posters put up about their independent projects/blogs/articles/etc, the moderators believe that it is not appropriate to create a new thread for each of those endeavors.  If the subject of the external content is related to a game thread or another existing thread, then that's where it belongs and that's where it will be moved if it didn't start there.

It is a given that everyone would like their posts to get some attention (otherwise why post at all), but using new thread creation to highlight your particular post is not appropriate.

Thanks

Cooley is a good coach, but a disrespectful dirtbag.  I'm ok with that. He wants to win more than anything and I don't think it's a bad thing.  He's a bad winner and bad loser like us fans.  Still happy to hand him a big loss any time.

Isn't interesting that after the games he can walk down the court and talk to the opposing coaches but never with the Johnnies.  Sore losing phony.

To be honest I'm not getting the Cooley hate around here.  I mean he wouldn't be in the top 25 of SJU villains if you asked me to make a list. Good coach, honorable guy, does nothing but win at a program that has no business being as competitive as it is
