Fire Lavin!

Fire Lavin just because we lost to DePaul the first time.

And Louie lost to mighty Niagara the season we went to the final four. Should he have been fired because of that one loss? Certainly not and believe me that loss was 10x more shocking that our loss to Depaul this season.
The fact you wrote what I quoted shows you have some sort of agenda or hatred for Coach Lavin.
Personally, I find this topic very distasteful but it is not a violation of forum rules so the thread will stay.
However, I ask that you please be respectful in your posting as we all know Coach is not going to get fired this season as there is no reason to fire him.
You want to say the team underachieved, could play better ball, could have won anywhere from 1-5 more games, I certainly accept such an opinion. But please lets all get off the topic of coach being fired as there is just no merit or substance to such a topic.

I respectfully disagree.

We are on the bubble, back from the dead and will be a 20+ win team and going to a post season tourney not named CBI. When compared to the past 4 coaches and their records over the past 20 years, our wizard should be considered for Big East Coach of the year right behind Jay Wright and Map of Italy. This thread was as premature as my ejaculations.

Look, I get it, everyone is back on the Kool Aid. That said......"Big East Coach Of The Year"? Did I really just read that??? Wow!

Look, this team has had a ton of issues to surmount this year as you well know, yet do not care. Many of those issues we did not know of or the extent of which was affecting our team. No, Lav will not be COY but this team took a lot of work and as much as I enjoy tongue and cheek comments, to even suggest a firing, which I have never supported, is absurd and those like you that voice it here are just not seeing the bigger picture at this stage of the season. Criticism of his coaching is always fair game but few coaches have had to deal with our number of player issues and win 20 games. In the Big East only coach Cooley has come close and he has done a great job. Thank God we are not Kentucky fans with 4 #1 NBA draft picks, the #1 recruiting class and soon to drop out of the top 20. Calipari would be gone after this year. We have only one player close to that level on this team yet sh$t heads like you think we are Kentucky. Give it a rest.

I find this topic offensive and damaging to the University.

I wonder what would happen if we found out where some of the posters work and posted on their employer's website that they should be fired.

I agree i think this topic should be taken down.

You people that are calling for Lavins head are really going to sound like UCLA fans when he give us a 20 win season on sat... Who the fuck complains about a 20 win season? #idiots.

B.S. Rudy Giuliani and his ho at the time called my news director at WINS to get me fired. They were laughed off. Employers don't need outsiders to tell them who should stay and who should go.

As far as Lavin, we should light a candle for him staying.

Hire Bobby Hurley!

I'm beginning to suspect that Bobby was the brains behind his younger brothers early college coaching success and is the Hurley brother that we ought to be targeting.

This guy might just be the gem in our own backyard that we miss out on whilst wasting our time with Lavin.

i expected this thread to rise again if we lost to DePaul. But to resurrect it again after winning? Somebody, or sombodies, clearly has an agenda with this thread.

Buffalo is in our backyard? And I'm not even sure Bobby himself would claim brains are his strong suit.

Cleaning up my language.

I find this topic to be in poor taste as well.

If we win on Saturday, any fan that is calling for the coach's head after a 20-game-win season is delusional and should go hang-out at UCLA.

Lavin has shown steady improvement throughout his tenure in all aspects. Lavin has brought national respect and recognition back to this program. Don't expect recruits to come running to the program after 10+ years of near irrelevance.

If you want instant results, I direct you to Jarvis and Calipari. But please expect a dirty dirty program which will bring us right back to where we started.

The program is in the best position that it has been in almost 15 FIFTEEN YEARS. No reputable program takes 15 YEARS to recover. Now that we are making our way back to the top don't complain about everything on the way there and try to act like we have been at this level of competition all along.

I swear, this board is infested with these kind of made up out of thin air, pulled out of the a**, hollow, faux counter responses.

What part did I make up? That Buffalo is not in our backyard? Or that Bobby isn't the brains behind Danny?

To those who want Lavin fired, be careful what you wish for. Seth Greenberg was let go at Va. Tech for some reason and how is that working out for them. I have major issues with Lavin's in game coaching at times with respect to use of timeouts and substitutions but overall I think he has done a pretty good job in his time here and is good for the program. I believe he is a very good recruiter and all of our expectations were probably a little high due to the talent here this year. We are still having a decent year and still have a chance to go on a nice run. Can the Lavin haters at least lay off with the ridiculous fire Lavin crap until the season is over?

I hear Bobby banged 10x more chicks at Duke than Danny did at the SHU.

Yes, but he couldn't seal the deal with one girl who slept with every other guy on the team. . .

Just goes to show you what a good coach Greenberg is. Va Tech was garbage before him and garbage after, but they did pretty well when he was there. I believe two-time ACC Coach of the year. And he happens to be available ...
