(EXHIBITION) @Rutgers, Thu., Oct. 17, 6:30p, BTN

Generally agree. Zuby is a liability on the defensive glass because he goes for the blocked shots. He's not as reckless about it as Obekpa was (very high bar to clear to be fair) but I'm willing to allow him go for those blocks given the athletes that will be on the floor with him. Weak side rebounding will probably be a point of emphasis by the staff this year
Not a lot of broad backs on this team outside of Vince and Kadary. We need to get it done with length and hustle. We will need Smith to fly in as well.

I think it’s deeper than going for blocks with Zuby. Obviously he can improve, but it will always be a weakness.

Just have to break their backs on the offensive glass.

Immediate thoughts -

Huge long term confidence boost for this young group, incredible resiliency and togetherness for a team in its first test.

Obvious miscues defensively early, learning sets, backing each other up, crashing the boards, fatigue lags.

There is a glaring hole at the Center position. Vince and Prey non existent. Zuby, RJ and Scott all came to play. RJ needs to clean up his free throws and Scott his on ball D. All 3 should be starting. RJ is going to be a star this year, him not starting clear motivation by Coach.

Sim had some horrendous defensive lapses, completely lost on sideline assignments but is obviously growing, explosive and nifty offense.

Dunlap looking more of the same, disappointing has to find his niche in the flow of the game.

Kadary should be the focal point and they’re not there yet. If he sets the tone everything else will fall in to place. Really impressed w Smith’s passing ability, beautiful finds throughout the night he’ll definitely find his groove.

Biggest highlight of the night was Zuby he looks terrific in all facets. The hype on his improvement is real. Works his tail off and is beaming with potential.

Harper and Bailey are studs, especially Bailey, a little bit of KD in him. Glad we’re not playing these kids again.

Figure it out defensively but boy do we have a problem behind Zuby in the front court w Vince and Prey.

For a team playing together for this time time against a T25 opponent on the road in a sold out environment it was a very healthy setting to work out the kinks, big season ahead!

"There is a glaring hole at the Center position".
Really? And what game were you watching?

Recorded the game, and just finished watching it. Just a few thoughts:

If this performance by Zuby was for real, then this team is going places this year. I expected him to be better, but I didn't think he would be that much better.

Richmond's actual numbers are going to be irrelevant this season. He is the most important guy on this team. When he was out in the first half, we looked lost. He is clearly a coach on the floor for this team, and his winning experience paid off at the end of this one.

We stunk from the line, as usual, but had 12 more attempts than Rutgers. Last year, we were about minus-80 for the season in free throw attempts.

We turned it over 9 times in the first 13 or 14 minutes, and then just 2 the rest of the way. That was big.

We looked much fresher than Rutgers did, down the stretch of the game. Score one for the strength and conditioning staff (and Richmond was probably fresh, because he sat for so long in the first half).

Vince and Prey non existent? Zuby played 34 minutes. Vince and Prey played the remaining 6. Would you have preferred they played at different positions?
