Gritty performance. As many said, we would’ve lost that one in past years. Draw up a play, and somebody dribbles off their shoe.

One thing I like when I look at the starting lineup… Jr,Jr,Jr, Sr,Sr.

We have an experienced squad, and it seems we have at least 2 guys capable of making plays, and not afraid to be the hero or the goat.

As much as I love Posh, he’s always shied away from the big moments. Belo has been torn apart at a big school, and it seems he doesn’t shy away from those moments.. he might have some games where you go “wth?” But he’s a baller. Great feel for the game.

CMA can reel him in a bit. David Jones.. tough kid, not afraid of anything. We got a good mix. Gotta tighten it up, but just keep stacking wins and confidence. We can be absolutely dangerous in March.

I just got back from the Barclay Center where I spent a really enjoyable evening watching two entertaining College Basketball games. I was so buzzed about it that I decided to relive the experience by reading this entire thread and just wanted to say that for some of you who helped to create this thread that some Prozac might come in handy.

From where I sat in the arena I thought St. John's should be praised for defeating two formidable opponents. One was a pretty good Temple team and the other (and IMHO the one that was by far the bigger obstacle to overcome) was an absolute brutal crew of refs who must have been wearing blindfolds over their eyes in addition to the whistles around their necks.

That SJU was able to come away with a win despite some atrocious and critical calls that went against them, is a testament to their grit and toughness. On to Syracuse tomorrow nigh,t where I pray for a more evenly reffed game and of course a St. John's v vb -++
Well said.

Interestingly tight rotation tonight. Expect the same 8 tonight unless there's foul trouble. Pinzon, nywie and king could see time on Saturday against Niagara

This team is head and shoulders better than last year: more depth; more crunch time players; more poise and maturity; better rebounding and size; hence, we see better end of game close outs and winning games maybe we lose in past years.

Should be a fun season.

Clearly Mathis was the MVP. Not only for his great offensive game but his D as well. In a game that saw multiple mistakes at key moments, Pish having one of his worst games, Wusu as well and Curbelo 2-12 until his last heroics, the fact that the team pulled it out was the real positive takeaway. I don’t think they win that game in the past or against a decent Big East team. The Cuse brings different challenges with their zone. Hopefully a shooter on St. John’s shows up to contend with that.

too bad the crowd was less than 6,800 last night. Tonight could be close to 10,000 with a strong showing of support from both 'Cuse and St. John's. Should be fun

Temple isn’t great. But they are projected to have a nice season in their league I believe as a borderline NCAA team. Wasn’t a great win. But wasn’t a bad one either. They have some guards that will cause teams problems on certain nights and the big can play too. And the best part was it being close and us making plays in the half court down the stretch to win a close one. We struggled so much last year in those types of games.
Middle of the lack in A-10 is not close to ncaa
