Curbelo is our new Dunn. That said, he’s a lot more talented overall and can still get a ton better. Mathis floundered at RU, and we rough last year but is getting better. Hopefully Curbelo can harness his strengths and become the player we all wanted out of HS.

Lol I had no choice on the days off. I’ve got 23 years on, I’ve switched unions three times now so I’m 2nd junior to the bottom now. Got more time than anyone else in the room, but, that doesn’t matter. Lol, making money though, can’t complain. Actually like what I’m doing too which helps.
It always helps to like what you do. I loved my coworkers They were like family to me but the actual job sucked.

I said early on that for us to have a successful season we need Curbelo to play well because he has the greatest ability to create for others. He has moxie and I have no problem with under control drives. Just needs to be reminded that he is more valuable when he creates for others. 14 shots is too many. We can’t go too long with Jones not touching ball in the paint.

Temple had some good players but we (the fans) should not have had to sweat that out to the degree that we did.
Curbelo was out of control 60-75% of time. Not sure why he is allowed to take those risks on offense. His turnovers could have been the difference instead his made layups were the difference.

I’ve led a strange railroad life. I did the bar cart for 18 years. Job got taken out from under my feet, they made me a cleaner. Lost all my seniority. Despite hating life for a bit, readjusted and made things work. Just got into this new dept now and I actually needed my stupid degree for it. That made me happy too.

I’m surprised that Reynalds outplayed Soriano with 21 points. Soriano was at his best when Reynalds was out if the game.
Reynolds played well but a lot of it was when Soriano got into foul trouble and had to back off on defense. They were smart and went inside once he was in trouble. Wouldn’t say that he outplayed him. Soriano played equally as well and showed a lot of leadership.

Soriano is gonna be awesome this season. Can’t wait to see him in BE play. Just hoping Anderson remembers he’s there. No reason why he shouldn’t average 16 and 12 this season.

I love Psh. In my view, one of the best student-athletes we’ve had here over the last 20+ years. A smart, hard-nosed and give-it-all-he-has player. And, respectfully, that “transfer” reference is just silly.

With that said, and I hate saying this, but I believe that his offensive game is not the same when he and Curbelo are on the court together. The little things that he does (eg, the cuts, rebounds under the rim, even mid-range jumpers) are just not happening like we saw his first two years. It’s still early, but there is something off on the offensive side of the ball.

Not sure it’s chemistry, confidence, or just an off-patch, but hopefully it’s corrected soon….

One thing that's going to be huge this year vs last year is now we got 2 guys in Curberlo and Jones, who want to be the guy to close the game and is capable of creating their own shot and doing it. Last year, Posh, while I think is capable of doing that, he's more of a pass guy and deferred to Julian to close games, and that's just not Julian's game, he couldn't create his own shot and he really didn't thrive in late game shot making. In late game situations you need guys that can put their head down and get to the rim and make something happen.
