He wrote and article called "Why St. John's won't make the tourney" and said we didn't have enough top 50 wins to make it. When we had 7, yep, SEVEN top 50 games left plus a BET where we are bound to run in to another. And look at that, we are, as of now, 1-0 against those 7, and he still has throw in a "doubt they stay there" remark when all the guy on twitter asked was whether they were back in.

I don't care if he was predicting a SJU final four run, it is still annoying how he thinks he knows what is going to happen, this is sports. Take a look at the Super Bowl last night, expect the unexpected.

I was watching the Gonzaga/Memphis game last night and they were talking about which teams are on the outside looking in on the bubble but are capable of a run in the tournament to even the final four.

They named us. I think a lot of people are giving us respect for how we've shown up against the likes of duke and Gonzaga. I hope we fulfill our potential and make the tournament because I believe if we get the right matchups a sweet sixteen run could be in the cards

Sweet Sixteen? Be happy if our inconsistent, roster challenged team gets to .500 in BE Jack.

I can believe what I want and I think if we just get in we can do damage. I am aware of our challenges, I'm not an idiot, but i still believe in us.

What you just pointed out to the world is that we were beating two top five teams late in the second half.

We have a dozen games to get the freshman big man, Alibegovic, to the point where he can be comfortable on offense/less foul-prone on D and give us 8-10 quality minutes a night. That will go a long way to help with depth.

There is also time for Obekpa to turn it up and, of course, for Rysheed to give us what he was to start the year.

Thought it was gonna be a magical run, and DLo and the seniors would make the ncaa tourny without a sweat, it didn't turn out that way.
Gotta gut it out every game from here on out.

As I said in another thread, I think tomorrow's game could be a season changer, as I think we'll beat DePaul and Creighton (just my gut feeling). We'd have a 4 game winning streak heading into X and G-Town, if we split that then I think that we'll be fine. As I pointed out a few pages back, the last two ncaa appearances we got red hot in February.
I'm calling it right now, if we win @Butler then it will be the season changer.

I believe the magic # this year is 19 win (not counting Franklin Pierce). Under your model, we got #19. I'd feel a lot better if we got 20+ obviously, as I think that eliminates any doubts.

That last game may be the worst Looie ever coached. Against Florida with Vernon Maxwell and 5 other players,Conventional Wisdom was to press, run and wear out the undermanned team. However Looie knew better and settled on a walk up game that kept Florida in it until they eventually won it with their one legit player.
