Do we still have a chance -- NCAA Tourney?

I was watching the Gonzaga/Memphis game last night and they were talking about which teams are on the outside looking in on the bubble but are capable of a run in the tournament to even the final four.

They named us. I think a lot of people are giving us respect for how we've shown up against the likes of duke and Gonzaga. I hope we fulfill our potential and make the tournament because I believe if we get the right matchups a sweet sixteen run could be in the cards

I bet there are a lot of fans that feel that way about their teams. There's probably uconn fans already feeling that emotion.

In the end it wont matter how well we played against Duke or Gonzaga, the Committee will make its decision on the Win- Loss column. As we really dont have any signature wins unless you want to count St Mary's or Syracuse, then up to this point we are OUT

We really don't need a signature win. We just need to be above .500 in our conference. If we are, our RPI and SOS will both be high and we will have a very good record during the closing weeks of the season. These are 3 things the committee usually considers to be important for at large bids.

Will this be easy? No. But why should anything ever be easy for us?

If there's one thing that surprises me after following this program forever is that nothing surprises me. Neither Duke nor Villanova are unbeatable for us, especially after Duke booted one of their best defensive players.

They played Zags tough down the stretch. Zags arguably better than Duke and Nova. This team still has lots to do, but plenty of games left for resume wins.

Beast, we hung with Gonzaga, with Villanova for 30, were taking Duke to the cleaners for 32 damn minutes.
The first 6 are ncaa caliber.
I hate to keep repeating it over and over and over, but the bench will screw us in the end.

Thing I don't understand is wtf are they even on the team? Yeah, I could see the 9th or 10th being this bad, but should have atleast 3 guys off the bench that could get 15+ in any giving game.

Lunardi makes his living with projections and people keep reading his rankings over the whole season, despite it not being based in reality. It tunes up everyone to see their team , either, IN or OUT..

I don't get too worked up listening to analysts. Some of them are just sports nuts who write well, speak well, look good, or played the sport.

I like listening to Donny Marshall, who I believe knows the game. Just when I was happy to see he was announcing the Providence game (I was there and watched pieces when I got home), right up front he declared SJU didn't have the talent to compete against Providence and would get beaten readily.

So much for analytical skills, even from a knowledgeable guy who had seen us play multiple times. All he was doing was projecting SJU at its worst, not what we know our guys are capable of. IMO we handled Providence quite efficiently, and except for some problems with their big white guy (I challenge you to spell his name correctly without checking, which I'm not going to do) we looked like the superior team.
