Detroit Game

Remember Joe this team is young and needs to develop chemistry. Its also the first game of the season and we probably will not have Sanchez and Marco. This game is far from a gimme and will be competitive. I predict a close game that could go either way.

Let's see McCallum drop 23 and go 5-9 from 3 pt range against Syracuse.

What difference does it make? Frankly, I'm sure he's capable of doing so. Not to mention, the initial discussion you had with austour was about who was ranked higher. You were wrong. No biggie. Let it go.

McCallum is a solid player who had offers from big programs, but chose to play for his dad. He'll also more than likely be an NBA draftee in either 2013 or 2014.

Dinkins, it is indisputable fact that Harrison is #40 and McCallum is #43 on rivals. Go look.

So, is Rivals totally the undisputed gospel when it comes to rankings? I'm not gonna take one particular recruiting site rankings, and use one AND only one when it comes to citing who's rated higher or not. It's best to take a cumulative of rankings when basing who's ranked higher or not.

Per the RSCI (which, is a combination of recruitnik's rankings), McCallum was the higher rated player, amongst him and Harrison, when they both came out of their respective classes.

False. Harrison is ranked better.

Harrison: 40 in nation
McCallum: 43rd

I saw MJD already corrected you (again think before you post - who has that beating a dead horse emoticon) and I wasn't meaning to say McCallum would win the game on his own. Only making fun of your obsession with rankings. FWIW Chad Ford has him as the 39th best prospect for this year's draft.

Yes but Rivals is the only service in the country who didn't rate him in the top 28 so that's the one we'll use.

One plays against cupcakes, the other against the best.

So what does that say about a kid like CJ McCollum from Lehigh?

Your analogies hold no weight. For the last time, stop looking at recruit rankings and player conferences to determine who should win a game and who are better players.

You can lead a dope to facts but you can't make him think.

Austour...I'm referencing Rivals. You are referencing another scouting service. That means neither is correct and we are offering the same thing in essence. Unless the one you mentioned is a composite of ALL the services.

I already stated RSCI is a cumulative of rankings, per several, different services.

RSCI = Recruiting Service CONSENSUS Index

If you didn't know that you should really start picking your battles on these sites. Start with Old Red, Bobre45 and Dee, and then work your way up.

LOL That was cold, but rather funny.

If you don't know what RSCI is then you should have clicked on the link. Stop picking fights with folks who've been posting on this and the previous STJ boards as long as you've been alive and try listening just every once in a while. Trust me every once in a blue moon you'll learn something.

Ah, the douchiness...and to think some of you lasted about 3 days without it...the streak is over. You better call Rivals up and tell them they don't know crap. Maybe you can get a job there since you clearly have the truth and they don't. I've never heard anyone use RSCI in the mainstream...it's Rivals and ESPN usually. Also, if your intent is to teach someone something, the whole approach of being a complete douchebag isn't that effective. Is it so hard to say "Yes, rivals rankings are included in the RSCI" instead of "OMG you are so dumb, pick your battles you fool. Detroit is like #10 in the nation!"?

I don't think you were particularly referring to me.... Nevertheless, fuhgeddaboudit. You're impossible.

Watch out guys: He's going to start calling you middle-aged and talking about your guts, and then go into his speech about how he's been the man of his house since he was 14.
