Totally agree. Too bad we don't have 5 guards. Play a five guard offense. All you lose is blocks but what do they get you when they either go out of bounds and back to the other team who we then still can't defend or right to the other team for an open follow since two guys are still returning to earth from the block effort and aren't around to get the loose ball. Guaranteed we'd get more rebounds and more points in the lane with 5 guards. Better yet play 4 guards and Amar and tell him he will be kicked off the team if he shoots from outside 7 feet. Make him camp in the lane and fight for rebounds on O and D and defend the other team's big body. Play a zone against big teams. If Villanova can play 4 guards why can't we. For variety we can play 4 guards and Bashir with him camped down low and to get really crazy Bashir, Amar and 3 guards. Mainly dramatically reduce the time that Sima, Yakwe and Owens are on the court since they are giving the team almost nothing at the moment on O or D. Perhaps put one of the in at a time for short periods just as a change of pace. I started down this road in sarcasm but the more i think abut it the more I think it is the way to go.

Pipe dream re: AD authority. This team and staff fall right in line with the overall state of this university, way subpar and in shambles. Lot of hype around Matt A, but where are his impact players? Looks like Slice made the smart move. I've tried to keep my mouth shut, but this is embarrassing, it's not fun watching this team.

Yakwe and Owens had two of the worst 2 foot shots ever seen in basketball

Sima and Yakwe confidence is shot. Whenever they get the ball in the post they never square up and attack. Last year they played with more agreesiveness on the offense end. With Lovett and Ponds Mullin has focuses offense around them. No interior passing or working to get each other open. Mullin better figure it out or 10 wins might be pushing it !
But, those coaches only got those assistants AFTER they became successful. Willard joined Pitino, and (especially) Blaney joined Calhoun, because they knew they could get a national championship ring by doing so (3 championships in Blaney's case).
The only former head coach Mullin could bring on staff, is someone like Slice, who was not successful, but maybe looking for a second chance.

Agree about them being leftovers in the Spring of 2015 recruiting but, Matt had to see they were 1 Trick Ponies. this year we would have brought in a strong, 5th Year player for front court. Ahmed will develop but, still has JUCO in his game.. If you are in charge of Recruiting, our needs are a Front Court game. Maybe next year? I am not up on next years recruits and what they will bring.
No doubt Mullin deserves time. After all, we gave Norm 6 years. However, you have to admit that we have shown no improvement. These kids may be flawed, but there is absolutely enough talent to be competitive against good comp and smack down terrible teams like Del State.
