Curbelo's audition for the Washjngton Generals couldn't have gone better. May have even gone too well, Curly Neal faced more resistance throught the years.

“Well obviously coming on the road especially playing at a place like Creighton, it's going to be tough. I thought there were a couple loose balls that really turned out in their favor.

CMA is delusional!!! Look at that statement! There were a couple of loose balls that really turned out in their favor?????? They gave up
104 points and lost by 28!!! A couple of loose balls???? Get rid of this guy!!!

Here's the post game quotes from Anderson.

No acceptance of responsibility.

Could have at least given a mention to Storr

Those quotes sound to me like it isn’t just the players going through the motions.

As a 50 year alumna of SJU and high school basketball coach, I am fully embarrassed by what our basketball program has become. Everyone from top down needs to go, athletic director, coach, all assistants and anyone else involved in this so called program. When will this program ever be respectful again ??? We are the laughing stock of Division one basketball. SICKENING

Some fans often default to “The kids played hard” but frankly it appears Mike has lost this team. Mature leadership from stand up guys like Wheeler and Julian at least kept them competitive in BE for a while after a tough start.

I suspect Curbelo and Jones are not built that way. Throw in Posh’s bad year to date and the needle seems to point to a six or seven win BE season or less. Nothing to wait for imo except consequences and hopefully change. Who knows what next HC accomplishes if Mike out, but you can’t sit still and wait for him to succeed. I thought he was a “real coach” v his predecessor, but now it is easy to see he is well past his prime. Hopefully Shanley still has his fast ball.

CMA has lost this team. He has no answers on offense or defense. There is no strategy apparent, other than trying to run the opposition up and down the court. Three point defense is non-existent. Watching games make me angry that I spent 2+ hours that I can never get back.

1) When’s the last time you were excited for a St John’s game? Like legit “can’t wait for tonight”

2) replace MA with the current top 5 big East coaches and what’s our record to date?

As bad as Mullin's first team was you didn't get the feeling the kids were mailing it in. Last night was one of multiple times this year that the team gave a halfhearted effort. You can't not see it. I won't pretend to know any of them and off the court they might be the greatest kids in the world.

But this is a completely unlikeable basketball team to watch.

Otis posted that the game has passed Anderson by. It appears his years ago success was due to his teams effective pressure defense. Once the big east coaches adjusted his half court offense and defensive coaching was exposed.
There is no half court strategies in his head.

Well for the first time that I can remember I went to bed after 5 minutes into the second half, I had enough last night! So I only lost an hour and 15 minutes...

Last night was the first time that I came around to the fact that they might actually make a coaching change. The halftime announcers were literally laughing at the school. I'm still not fully convinced a change is coming, because this is a school who hired Norm Roberts and then kept him for six years. But it is getting to the point where if they don't make a cosmetic change they will be fully advertising how little they care about the program.

And they don't care about the program - but prefer that fact stay more under the radar.
