@Creighton, Sat., Jan. 13, 1p, FOX

Oh, he didn’t have to force anything. He had Soriano wide open after Kalkbrenner charged him to defend his shot. Soriano was pointing up for the lob. It was the literally the same exact play they last scored on to make it 65-64 with 2:07 left.
That's good. Do you have pictures of when he was fouled on the rebound with 14 seconds left?

Really tough game to lose. 2 huge opportunities missed at UConn now at Creighton. Refs obviously influenced game with wild disparity almost 3:1 & of course 2 huge blown calls at end. Can’t beat teams and refs. I feel like we took too long to settle in.

Losses like these are sadly familiar. All that build up “if we win we’re ranked!” just to lead to back breaking loss emotionally. I hate seeing Hall with new coach & questionable talent being better than us with Rick so far. I feel like they win every close game & are due for losing streak. We MUST beat Hall. And eveb after that we need a real signature win.

We don’t need to do anything except keep doin what we’re doing. Win our home games and keep giving ourselves chances to win road games.

You make it sound like we’re on the outside looking in when it comes to the tournament. Nah we’re firmly in there right now. We don’t need some crazy win to bolster our resume, we just need to keep stacking big East wins. If we get to 11-12 they aren’t keeping us out of the tournament

I feel the same way Mike. If we lose to Seton Hall it will be devastating. It changes the entire trajectory of our season

Right now the tournament chances look very good. The big east losses were to top teams on their courts and we should win the four games vs Geo and De Paul.
The second half schedule is a lot easier than the first half.
Georgetown is playing better with Cooley and will not be the same team come season’s end. We should be better also but no game is a gimme in this league except maybe DePaul. In order to get to 12 conference wins we are going to have to sweep a couple of these middle of the pack BE teams. We will not go 10-0 at home in conference.

St. John's is 5 points from being undefeated in conference play. Both on the road, to ranked opponents. Don't think that's a sentence you can say about this team in 30 years. The positive is you can see this team will be in it vs everyone and anyone. They've had answers for every team when they go on a run against them. It's encouraging for sure, the other side of it is dammit you wish one of them went in your favor.

Out for blood against Seton Hall.

He had 9 rebounds in 21 minutes yesterday and shot 2-3. He’s shooting 65% over the last 3 games.

If Jenkins reined it in that much, we might not lose again this season.
Which by calculation means Ledlum had 4 points in 21minutes .
Not a great contribution for 1 of our 2 Ivy League All Stars . Who were suppose to deliver close to. 25 , 30 points a game as our Premier recruits .
Dingle had 7 points to add to that total of 11 points for the game . And , missed some makable shots late that could have won the game .

Unless there is a remaining Season surprise forthcoming from Ledlum and Dingle , it’s probably more accurate to expect we will see what we have already seen so far .

Which doesn’t cut it as far as Players that were counted on to contribute much more than they have.

So , less shots for Jenkins mean more production from Ledlum , Dingle ? . I wish it were so but , so far , nada .

The definition of "invisible" on offense is Taylor.
He’s so invisible I didn’t even think of him when writing any of my posts today 😂

But yes he’s another example that adds to my point. A lot of guys doing disappearing acts on offense, playing hot potato with the ball… I don’t want all those Jenkins shots… but I need some guys to step up and show that they want those shots.

I still feel like this is a good problem to have in January. The roster and coaching is all there… what we need to do between now and March is figure out everyone’s roles and where everyone fits in terms of usage. It just gets harder to figure that out on the fly, when games are so competitive every night in this league + it feels like we are very unsure of what can we get from Luis on a game to game basis due to his injury, which makes things more difficult

You want a disappearing act, re-watch the women's game against Uconn.
Also, on the injury front what is the status of Cruz?

Luis, Soriano, Alleyne, Dingle, Taylor…Dunlap. That’s basically two. Shots extra for everyone else. It’s really not that crazy.

We don’t have a Ponds so why force it? Everyone pick their spots. Run a good portion of the offense through Soriano. Run more pick and roll with Dingle and Soriano.

I think Pitino knows how to run his offense . You ever think maybe he realizes what he’s got in Dingle and Ledlum and they might be a little short of what he needs ?
Soriano has to present himself better for the ball .He needs to work harder to receive the passes inside . And , hold onto the ball when he gets it .

Maybe he's invisible because he knows he won't be here once the new semester starts, which by my calculations is in a few days.
