But was his landing spot impacted by the defender after the game clock ran out?I’m referring to the last second shot from Dingle. By rule he should’ve been given two free throws. His landing spot was egregiously impacted by the defender

No question about it. He's so f'in calculating! lolTrying to impact next Uconn game maybe?
Yup, like a Duke player back in the day...Christian Laettner. You'd think Kockbreather was The Anointed One.
Never fouls, only draws fouls... Big time joke.
Agree as long as we beat UConn and Creighton in MSG.Sucks to lose that one, so close even with the lopsided/missed calls. But at the same time, this team is on track to make the tourney easily, this game certainly builds character, and the only 2 conference losses are UConn and creighton on the road. I think even this loss continues to raise my expectations for this season.
Thought so too but he is a trooper…9 rebounds…he clears his man out under the boards better than anyone weve had in a while…if he was 6’8” no one would get a rebound against himI don't know if any of you guys noticed but Ledlum appeared to be hobbled by his ankle, especially evident in lateral movement and he appeared to be hampered jumping. To me he appeared to be gutting it out. Wonder id Rick will comment.
If you think that this was a well played game “offensively” by the Johnnie’s then you have not been watching this team much lately. Offensively except for a few moments by our bench, the team took a step back with Jenkins tossing up one bad shot after another, Taylor not taking a shot, Brady missing every shot, Joel outplayed badly etc. What game were you watching? It was a hell of a good game, well-played and well-coached by St. John's. A few more made shots and we win. The home crowd definitely played a role, although they were relatively quiet until the Johnnies let them get back into it in second half.
Dude called it before game started
Actually, I've watched every regular season game so far. Today, JS was outplayed in the first half but came around in the second. Yes, Jenkins tossed up some questionable shots - something I'm not wild about...he's supposed to be a point guard with a pass first mentality, something I do think he's getting better at - but he also sunk some great ones and made some heads-up passes. As others have posted, if coach has given him the green light and trusts him, who are we to question? CRP has forgotten more about b-ball than you or I will ever know. Brady was playing on what I assume was not a completely healed ankle sprain, which could well have affected his shot. Taylor not taking a shot is another matter. Question is whether he's timid about shooting, trying too hard to fit into the team scheme, or following coach's directions. If you think that this was a well played game “offensively” by the Johnnie’s then you have not been watching this team much lately. Now if you want to say it was a hard played game with great effort, I’d agree but well played? NO WAY And if you think that you don’t think much of this teams ability.
Another small thing he does is he’s really the only guy we have that keeps aggressively pivoting when he looses his handle. He doesn’t wait to be trapped like everyone else. That’s been an issue for us all year but he does a lot of little things that add up.need him to shut down Kadary
I hope everyone realizes that Ponds is just a little better then Jenkins. One more thing to add about Jenkins’ insane volume…
Ponds only missed 12 shots in a game once his final season and he scored 35 points that game. We won over the A-10 regular season champs VCU in OT, he shot 44% from the field, had 7 steals and 7 assists, and shot 12-15 from the FT line. 12 free throws in a game?! Jenkins only has 10 free throws through 6 Big East games.
Dwight Hardy only missed 12 shots in a game twice in his two-year St. John’s career. He shot 9-21 at SH (42.9%) and was 4-6 from the line. He was also 10-23 (43.5%) and 3-3 from the line in the tournament loss to Gonzaga.
Jenkins has missed 12 shots twice already this year. He was 6-18 against North Texas (33.3%) and 5-17 tonight (29.4%). He was also 4-13 against Uconn (30.4%).
Hardy and Ponds earned more shots by making shots their high volume games. Jenkins just takes them whether he’s earned them or not. He was 2-8 against WV and I was going to point that as a game he limited himself, but he only play 22 minutes because he fouled out.
Agree overall, but they didn't beat us, we beat ourselves with our careless play. If we played up to our capabilities and lost, I'd feel pretty damn good about the game.I rate this game a 9 out of 10 for us. We didn't win, hence the 9. But we went into a very hostile environment on the road against a ranked team, we were 8 point underdogs and took them literally down to the last second. I'll take it.
see when Jenkins was shooting down the stretch today I doubt he was thinking “yea I earned these shots”Jenkins just takes them whether he’s earned them or not.
There was no screw up on the technical. He was yelling and motioned to the ref at least twice. Deserved it. Thinks he's fouled on every play. Easy to dislike him.I think the refs knew they screwed up when they called the technical on Creighton and were focused on leaving the arena alive in the waning minutes of the game.
We only need Jenkins to realize that.I hope everyone realizes that Ponds is just a little better than Jenkins.
So with everything you just stated, how do you believe we played a great game? I don’t question Pitino at all but Jenkins was off and no one in particular played a great game offensively.Actually, I've watched every regular season game so far. When you are the point guard and you drive and pass or drive and shoot everything yourself, how can you blame other people for not feeling comfortable, though? His domination of the ball has to be a factor, right?see when Jenkins was shooting down the stretch today I doubt he was thinking “yea I earned these shots”
Based on what I saw, he was probably thinking
“wow the other 4 guys out here wearing red all have shit running down their leg, I guess I need to shoot”
This was the basketball equivalent of: “If the facts are against you, argue the law. If the law is against you, argue the facts. If the law and the facts are against you, pound the table and yell like hell.” Bill Burr has a funny bit on something similar too.So with everything you just stated, how do you believe we played a great game? I don’t question Pitino at all but Jenkins was off and no one in particular played a great game offensively.
