Creighton Game #2

I got a headache from the stress of watching this game. After Syracuse, Wisconsin, Villanova and Creighton, we finally got a big one.

Andrew, I've been following this team since the Leroy Ellis/Kevin Loughery team. Can you imagine how many headaches I've had, including tonight? It ain't pretty.

Finally!! We have a season once again. Small crowd but vocal and impactful. Our defense tonight after the first 10 mins was great. I thought Dom changed game in first half and Jakkar was awesome on McDermott. I can't believe we held him scoreless the last 8 mins. Fun game to be at.

Just got back from MSG, small crowd but loud! Im pumped up I knew this team wasn't dead a few weeks ago, Huge shot by Harrison late, our defense was great- we are rolling, Seton Hall next !

Just got home from the game and I needed to say congratulations to a great performance by St. John's. Our players and coaching staff pulled off a great home victory for us.

Only thing that disappointed me was the crowd size. I thought with recent wins against Marquette and Providence that we'd get a decent showing by our fans, but I'd say we were lucky if there were 6 or 7 thousand in MSG. Hopefully, we get a better crowd showing against G'town next weekend.

Props to you man, you called a run from the beginning! So cool to see it happening before our eyes.

What an easy victory! Yeh right. Congratulations to our guys , Lavin and staff. After Harrison made his last three pointer I screamed scaring the hell out of my wife and dog.
Thought we were in deep trouble the way Creighton started the game. We were bumping into each other with their picks. Settling down, we were able to play tight defense.
Got a little nervous when Harrison went to the bench in the second half and didn't return until the nine minute mark.
Did anyone notice Pointer distract Brooks on the foul line at 14.8 seconds remaining. First he extended his arm toward the foul shooter and seemed to have stepped into the circle too early. Creighton's players were appealing to the refs to no avail.
Onto Seton Hall.
Once again, thanks guys for not giving up.

Just got home. Best win of the season so far.

Moose was AWOL from his seat. After an afternoon at Rick's maybe watching basketball seemed boring.

Greg Bodkin was behind me and very vocal - great fan.

To Jumbo Peanuts: we held serve.

On the train home. Great D by Sampson the last 10 minutes. Crowd was not huge but really into the game. Nice finishing by Dlo. Thank God they were missing on their 3s!

Thanks for being there! You're presence made a difference.

Great game...shame that we didn't at least fill the bottom bowl...looked like a lot of season ticket holders may have stayed home...but cannot detract from a great night

Feels so good, after how many close losses, to pull one out.

That Harrison three is the prime example of a shot we couldn't hit earlier this year.

And how about the smiles on Jordan's, Jakarr, obekpas faces after the game. This meant so much to them, and I can't imagine how happy they are on the bus ride back to queens.

Creighton board blaming the refs, you know what, welcome to the Big East. They still got some bs calls. Obekpa flagrant and out of bounds call on Harrison.

Let's just kill seton hall and get ready to continue the revenge tour.

2-0 on this revenge streak, on to Georgetown after the opportunity for our first sweep of the season.

Also, can get to 6-6 in the big east if we win. Which is great, considering the 0-5 start

McD should have been in foul trouble...he got away with murder down low

Wonderful win, the team has much to be proud of! Let's keep it up against Seton Hall. Amazing that Mcdermott scores 25 and it's considered an excellent defensive effort. Goes to show how much of a factor he is!

And some people posted he isn't going to be as good in the NBA. Yeh right!

Great game all around. SIGNATURE WIN !!

BUT it means NOTHING if we don't beat Seton Hall this week.

Let's smack them down and then beat Gtown on sunday and start to really get excited about closing out the season

Classic letdown/trap game with Gtown at MSG waiting on the other side.
This team made nearly an entire season's worth mistakes early in the season so it doesn't have the option of losing to SH.
Two manageable wins and we are 17-9 with an RPI in the 30s.

I was at the game tonight and the crowd participation was good (not great) and with more wins the energy will be more electric, however I must say that Creighton being from Omaha, Nebraska that 97% of the Garden was St. John's fans. That being said, when we play G-town next Sunday, with most of us having President's Day off on Monday, we'll need to bring it because the crowd ratio unfortunately will easily be 50/50. By the way, by no means am I looking past the Seton Hall game, but I know that most of us will be watching and rooting from home due to the game being played in NJ. In a nutshell, if the team is turning the corner and playing good basketball, then the fans must also turn the corner as well and support THIS team.

Good post on your part on the Bluejay board

Just got back from the game. Great win for the team!! I wish the crowd was bigger but they we loud for the amount of fans that were there. Harrison really stepped it up at the end and I think that CO had a very good game with 11pts and Dom's 9 1st half points were huge. The Refs did everything they could to take this game away from us in my opinion. The three minute stretch in the second have when neither Branch nor Jordan was on the floor and Greene ran the point was almost disastrous. Creighton outscored us like 6 - 0 and took the lead. Creighton sets more moving picks than any team I've ever seen and it's never called. The team fought through a lot tonight and came out on top. Congratulations to them and the staff. Watching Lavin pn the sidelines you could tell how much he wanted this game. Onward and upward!!

I like the change of tone on this board. One win away from .500 in the Big East.

SH in the trap game followed by grown revenge, followed by another trap game against Butler, and then Nova, away, which is the game that I really want to see them win.
Away win against a ranked opponents would be huge.

I think the bad start is gonna help us with these trap games because our guys know they have a small margin for error.

Anyone else going to Jersey on Thursday? I know it's tough with the 9 oclock start and most of our fanbase being on the other side of the river but I got really good seats for under 20 bucks so I'm gonna make the trip out there. Should be a good one.
