Creighton Game #2

Great win, but replacing Jordan with Phil instead of Branch when Rysheed picked up his third foul, and promptly losing the lead, I do not forgive. When you keep repeating the same mistake there is no reason to expect a different result. It was fixed faster than in the past with Branch coming in, but should not have happened at all.

Everyone gave it their all.

I've been so tired of the Lavin bashing. For the record, none -- repeat, none -- of these players would be here if weren't for him.

DLo was great (loved seeing the ball in his hands at the end of the game), Jakar played great D, and CO -- I thought he was supposed to be transferring after this season? -- has continued to show great development (gasp!) as the season's progressed.

Very, very satisfying win!

Good summary, red!

WHERE ARE THE DLO HATERS TONIGHT HMMMMMMMM
We need everyone. What is up with that negative BS. Guys who don't like coach still gonna remind us only 5-6. This team far from perfect, but battling with honor. How about everyone on the board just pulling for these kids. Why to finish D'lo.

dlo was great down the stretch .. hit big 3 then all the fts to close it out the kid stepped up big.. and Sampson was unreal on D what a effort by the team

Great signature win
Puts us right back in the conversation for an NCAA bid
Need to keep the pedal to the metal against The Hall on Thursday
Can't afford a letdown
Need to finish with a league record of at least .500 heading into the BE tournament
We can do it guys...... Keep up the great work and intensity

now switch over to beatles special and its a great night for no hope

Have to admit, I was sneaking peeks at it during the game. Was a senior in high school when the Beatles came on the scene, and immediately became a fan (who didn't?). Bittersweet memories watching: yes, all the great music and memories; but, on a difficult note, recognition that this happened all those years ago.

Meanwhile, back to tonight's great win. Next: crush Seton Hall.

I am very proud of the way they played after that fast start by Creighton.
Then we had that down period with a few questionable calls, the fouls mounting, Rysheed to the bench, then
Sampson to the bench, a few minutes later the "flagrant" foul on "O" that costs us the ball, and the free throws and Creighton's ball post free throws. We lost the eternal review on the reversal of the Out of Bounds play involving Harrison. But each and every setback was met not by resignation or lashing out but reaching in and finding the will to fight harder to defend even better. It was a major growth to come away with the win not because someone else lost it, but because you made the plays to take it. Very proud of the spirit they showed.

Season not over yet.
Hey Stuck, how about how hard the kids battled from start to finish? How about that D?
What I'm saying is the kids played great, and who needs a reminder that the season is not over yet. Yes, my post does look rougher then it should be. Sorry to Stuck and Jack. How about that D from start to finish?

What are you trying to say with this post? Stop attacking peoples posts and enjoy the win.

I've been hard on Dom and Sanchez, but they both played great tonight, and that makes us so freaking scary. There was one point that really drove home how scary good this team COULD be...Creighton was on an 8-0 run and their D was packed in except for on Harrison to stop penetration from Jordan. Our offense was stagnate, we were getting beat up a little on the boards, we could clearly use a shooter, and this is where we usually fold for a few minutes. Coach subbed Dom and Sanchez out for Greene and Obekpa. I was just thinking man, we are deep. Next possession Jordan turns the corner, draws the help and kicks to Greene for a beautiful 15 footer to end the run. That's his role, that's what we need him for. To have a kid like to complement Jordan, Harrison, and Branch is freaking huge.

I'd love to see Branch be more aggressive. He's so smooth and in control in the lane, and when he does that, we can't be stopped. The kid has a great jump stop. Branch in the lane is a very high % play for us, and the kid draws the entire team because he's not exactly a blazer. Maybe the two biggest plays to me where the timely steal and layup + the foul by Jordan--who seriously has some of the best hands on D you'll ever see--and that timely jumper by Greene to stop the Creighton surge.

Harrison was incredible. Just incredible. I know his stats don't make it seem that way, but his shot selection was great on a night he really wasn't hot. He moved the ball around well and really fit into the offense. This is the kind of play that I thought we'd see when he was signed. I can't say enough how much I love how Jordan and company get him the ball late. He has an airtight handle...makes the best decisions of anyone on the team...he's strong enough to get free on the inbounds and not be bullied into turnovers, and he is our best FT shooter by a mile.

Just a great game. Our first, much-needed, marquee win. 15-9, six out of the last seven, five of the last six in conference, and the RPI just got launched off a catapult. Our schedule is a thing of beauty to the end the year as well.
