I don't think I've watched an OSU game in a long time, but I was a fan of his work at his previous stop. Illinois got a good one. And I think it's easier to recruit to Illinois. or at least it should be.
 
Next we'll be reading of an extension for Lav. :)

His agent does nice job of keeping his name out there.

I also think Hopkins ship sailed at Syracuse. Not a big enough name coach for the big money donors after Boheim retires.
 
Following Boeheim at Syracuse will be a tough job for any coach. Whats the saying;, you don't want to replace the legend, you want to be the man who replaced the man who replaced the legend.
 
I always thought when you fired a coach, the goal was to bring in a better one.

Washington wasn't exactly killing it wit the #1 overall pick on their team. They had 9 wins this year, which is equatable to our season last year, and we didn't exactly have that caliber player.
 
It just seems Hopkins has been at Boeheims side too long. Reminds one of Mahoney. I think Syracuse is being very smart in probably orchestrating the Hopkins move. They will have many candidates to choose from when Boeheim finally leaves.
 
Smart move by Hopkins to go back West and away from Cuse.

I hope he does well there while Cuse goes in the direction of BC.
 
Strange situation and hire with Hopkins going to Washington. Does Jim dandy give the job to Mr Tolentine or his favorite Hurley clone in McNamara? At this point isn't it in the best interest for Syracuse to name a time when Jim is stepping down? Nobody is going to wait for this job because nobody believes This guy will actually ever retire .
 
Maybe Hopkins finally realized that Boeheim is not retiring after next season?
Hey, Rollie is still coaching in his 80's, why not Boeheim?

Was hoping he would wait around and get the job. I think that would have sealed Cuse continued decline.

Now ithey'll get someone big if and when JB goes
 
According to the President of the Greg St Jean fan club Will Wade is front runner for LSU job. Maybe Matt can land Greg Williams after all
