Why does everyone think Whitesell is some revelation?
 
In the event this happens, Lavin, if he survives, would be well served getting Matt A back here & letting another assistant coach go. Not being harsh, just practical.

Don't see Matt ever leaving Hoiberg's side.

Also, not to be argumentative, but there are far better assistant coach candidates than Matt A out there (Rasheen Davis, for one) and what exactly has Matt A proven to date?

All that being said, time to cut some dead wood.

Davis is an excellent choice. With unrest at Manhattan, with divide between staff & AD I hear constantly about, he could very well be available.

Impressive resume. Bring him on as an Assistant with the Intent of grooming him as our future Head Coach.
 
I'd like to somehow get Slice here as an assistant. That guy is probably one of the best recruiters around today. Sucked as an HC, but recruiting wise he is amazing

@GoodmanESPN: Ben Howland has emerged as the frontrunner and is in discussions to take the Mississippi State job, sources told ESPN.
 
@GaryParrishCBS: Also worth noting on Ben Howland: Mississippi State is an adidas school and Howland has strong ties to adidas. Probably not a coincidence.
