Coaching Carousel

It does bring him closer to New York, which would make the transition from father to son…

Ok. Ok. I was going to say that Pitino hacked my account, and posted this, but thought better of it.😁
IMO it would be really difficult task for him to be successful there and in the B12. Would make it tougher to sell him as Ricks eventual replacement. Stay strong and put together an impressive 4-5 years at New Mexico young Richard

Unless Repole is also giving him a "whatever it takes" check at UCF

Happy I didn't make this up.

It was reported in the Forbes article last year he's a big donor at UCF, and plans on continuing helping their program out.

"
After the WFAN interview, Repole backed away from St. John’s and moved to Florida, where he has supported Central Florida’s athletic programs — and says he still will.

“I know the president [Alexander N. Cartwright] really well because I live here and obviously I want to support the local community,” he said of UCF, which moves to the Big 12 next season.

“I’m actually on the advisory committee of the Big 12....UCF is a football school and Johnny Dawkins does a great job [with the men’s basketball team] and now they’re going into the Big 12.

“I have season’s tickets to those games and I have season’s tickets for St. John’s, so I’ll be flying to Madison Square Garden for the St. John’s games and staying down here for the UCF games.”

Never knew that. Thanks

Also no goddamn clue they are going to B12 smh

The money is there for bigger names than these, but Madsen seems like the obvious choice. Maybe too obvious of a choice.

Would love for it to be Smith but don't think it will be.

This might be a great spot for Langel to finally break through. If not, he may be a Colgate lifer unless he takes a demotion to be a coach in waiting somewhere.

Langel at Villanova would be great but I don't know if they'd go that route

Realistic & good choice

That program needs more than someone who can coach, it needs a guy with a big personality.

I do wonder what dominos will fall now because while I don't think Oklahoma is a great job, it probably pays a lot. Some good coaches may give it a look.

A rumor is Kellen Sampson, Kelvin's son
Interesting, since I think he was named coach in waiting at Houston. Plus Houston clearly seems like the better program, and fans can't even say it's because of conference affiliation anymore.

I guess the waiting part is too much of a wait.
