Coaching Carousel

Jimmy will only leave if his handpicked successor is given the job. I am also skeptical that he is leaving. He'd stay just to spite the upstate reporters.

Imagine this year could see SJU Gtown Cuse and ND as all open jobs
I wouldn’t begin to argue SJU is as good of a job as Gtown or ND, but is cuse a better job? I’m not sure it is. I know that wasn’t your point of the post.

20-25K fans showing up each night says it is.

Cuse is the best job on that list and I don't think it's even close.
1st point - cuse out draws a ton of schools. Most all of them. Are they better jobs than all of them?

2nd point - I guess we’ll just have to disagree. Especially with the not even close part. If it was best program sure, but I don’t think it’s the same question.

Boeheim has built that program and I don't expect it to fall apart. A rabid fan base that brings in 25,000 a game (no jokes about what else is there to do up there please), the center of attention in that region, good facilities, a good conference and more of a brand name than us at this time makes it a better job.

Boehiem is Syracuse. They didn’t have to convince a great coach to come up there. They took their guy and he became great. I think a lot is to be determined about Syracuse the program moving forward.

Yes people will want the job, but if big time coaches were offered Cuse, ND, or Gtown, who have basically all those same benefits when they are winning, you think Cuse would be the first pick? I think with the same coach the ability to win at Cuse in the ACC is more difficult to win at Gtown in the BE.

I started a thread a few weeks ago that the 3 legged stool of the old BE-SJU/Gtown/Cuse could all see coaching changes this year.

I was comparing it to us.

You can say the same thing about Gtown as you can Syracuse regarding one man building the program.

Gtown remains a choice because of their foundation, I believe Syracuse would also.

ND would be the first choice IMHO, but they have the same disadvantage that you bring up about playing in the ACC. Also it depends on the coach's ego. Football will always be king at ND, something that you don't have to worry about at Cuse or Gtown.

Cuse had history before Jimmy Gtown not so much before big John unless you go way back.

While we have members here who can speak about and tell us great stories when Lapchick was coach and it does get brought up every so often on broadcasts. When was the last time you heard of things like that about Cuse before Boeheim?

Did the world have history before Jimmy?? . Gtown has gone to a final four and two sweet 16s since Sr left.

Sorry I got involved in this discussion I don’t know what the hell you guys are talking about

You lost me. Gtown accomplished that because of what John T built.
Was a joke as to how long boehiem has been around.

Perhaps they did, but I’m not sure that that means cuse will have success post Jim.
