Coaching Carousel

LSU is interesting, only high major school in the state, tremendous resources.

But man they are facing some very serious NCAA stuff.  Probably going to be a 2 yr post-season ban and some scholarship reductions.  That is why I thought McMahon might opt for South Carolina job, not quite as good but not facing the sanctions LSU is.

Could probably work the potential sanctions into more $ and more time to build... Could have essentially 2 free yrs without much scrutiny if those sanctions do come down hard... We have seen how programs are able to resurrect themselves quite nicely after imposed sanctions (Exhibit A: Baylor)

My feeling is that Cooley is happy at Providence and let schools know that but who knows.

Too funny.  This is from the Seton Hall message board.  Sound familiar?

It is all about “Dancing” in most schools obviously

Jankovich went 125-64 overall in his time on the Hilltop, but hadn't taken the Mustangs to the NCAA Tournament since 2017.

Imagine that, there are universities that values their programs make the NCAA tournament.

All official statements position this as a retirement decision by Jankovich.  Doesn't mean anyone has to believe that.   But in the public statements it seemed that this was not a sudden decision.

Knowing nothing about Alabama State, I googled this lowly program and came across this picture of their arena....

“The Dunn-Oliver Acadome is a multipurpose facility, featuring a 7,400-seat basketball arena suitable for NCAA Tournaments and concerts, as well as six team locker rooms for athletes, entertainers, banquet facilities and lab”

Yes I’m jealous

There is some buzz going around that Lavall Jordan may not be out of the woods yet.

Butler must have a specific guy in mind and are backchanneling to see if the interest is mutual. If not they keep LaVall another year. Can't see why else it would be taking this long to make a decision.

Yeah it sounds like if they do decide to make a change it could be Michael Lewis, current UCLA Assistant, who may be their target.

Played for Bob Knight at Indiana and served on Butler's staff during the Stevens and Holtmann era.

Sounds like the George Washington job could come down to Mike Pegues or Miami assistant Chris Caputo, who's been with Larranaga for 20 years. Delaware coach Martin Ingelsby also in the mix.

@Jeff-Ermann

Caputo well deriving of a HC gig
