Thanks, but no thanks.

He's 66, so he's not a long term solution. He's had more scandals on his watch than he has wins. Oh, and I believe that he has passed on this job before (more than once).
Don't remember when he was actually offered the job, but I do remember hearing him, on radio, saying SJU would be crazy not to hire Bobby Gonzalez. The operative word here being "crazy."
He also raved about Norm as coach. He said a lot of stuff that would ensure his constant advantage over St. John's. As if superior coaching and recruiting -- and cheating -- weren't enough of an advantage.

Following this board lately has been like watching a soap opera. As the Redmen turns.

If we had successfully recruited Zach Brown, we could have had our own "Crying Game."

If even some of your predictions come true, this program will be much better off!

I’m officially switching camps on this. Let’s just try to handle it gracefully.
Marillac, are you saying...?
I’m not saying anything...just echoing what I’ve heard from multiple friends with seemingly independent networks. When everyone says the same thing it means it’s either true or they all have the same incorrect source. The latter seems less likely IMO.

Ironically, the first bit of non-hearsay inside information that I received in many years actually goes against the rumors somewhat but it’s possible for both to be true.

Either way, I’m excited. Marillac loves multiple point guards and offensive rebounding.

Going offline for a few days...taking my son to watch some of the young guys play baseball— Miami Hurricanes in college and the Port St. Lucie Mets for A ball.

Bobby Gonzalez out of coaching since 2010. He left SH on pretty bad terms as I recall.

Here is what Dave who runs JJ is reporting. He can be well connected:

"Hit one of my good buddies up who's at the Final Four and is always on the pulse of coaching changes.

Says this handle is comprised of assistant coaches around the country who are well connected. He didn't personally hear this but says there could be some truth to it.

Additionally another person hit me up prior to this tweet saying same thing and also said if it does or doesn't happen that Mitch is gone.

Obviously we all know this could change like the weather in Florida but just relaying some info passed my way."
the school better make a decision soon. even if this is a rumor, this can't drag on. bad optics.
Not sure how quickly it can happen if Cragg is at Final Four and Mullin is not. Admittedly, I don't know how these things work. If the framework is already agreed upon, do school lawyers hammer out rest if Cragg is not around?
tom bradley is either gonna come out of this a prophet or a fool anyone placing bets
I want everyone to remember that if Pitino happens, I confirmed on Monday that it had legs.

lets be real no one cares about us haha. All eyes are on the Final Four, upcoming NBA playoffs, NFL draft, new Jets jerseys, etc.

It doesnt matter how it looks lets just hope they make the right decision

Well, thanks for this Marillac.
And enjoy your weekend watching baseball (!!) with your son.

Bad optics.....yes. But what worries me more is recruiters from other programs using this time of uncertainty to get in the ear of our current players and their parents/handlers. Like Monte said in another thread......it's a dirty business.

I'm sure that it will happen but if we really are moving on from Mullin it is to be expected that with a new coach and new era means a lot of guys will leave. That will be a shame but just have to hope that the new coach has plans laid out to fix things
Jon Scheyer???? Just throwing some stuff out I'm hearing...
Lol. Okay. Hearing? Or more so googling current and past Duke assistant coaches?
