Coach Anderson

Thanks. The first lady of St. John's basketball, indeed!

Coach Anderson has never abandoned a job after one season. He's very competitive and the BE is certainly a challenging conference that features many of the top ranked teams in the country.

I can't see Mike leaving a job in the BE to coach Tulsa St in the AAC.

He's made a commitment to rebuild St John's basketball program and IMHO that's what he'll do.

Should we fire up the Next Coach thread? Looks like John Beilein is going to be available soon, so we will hire Book Richardson

No opinion on this but will say this.
How many times you hear in sports a coach say no I'm not stepping down, or a owner say, he's my guy, I'm not going to fire him.
Then when the season is over, it happens?

I don't go by word of mouth anymore, you can't trust. Just gotta take a wait and see approach.

I don't believe it, and probably will turn out not true. But this is the second rumor we've heard like this already, both separate occasions. Doesn't make sense that someone would start a rumor of a first year coach leaving since that's pretty rare.

Remember anyone can start a rumor. Especially someone with a vendetta.

Here are the facts. Nobody wants to go to Tulsa Oklahoma nonetheless return to Tulsa Oklahoma.

Yes!!! Beilein will be fired from the Cavs tomorrow. He is a native New Yorker and coached there for 15 years. Remember, he has also coached in the Big East: at West Virginia (when they were a part of the BE).

This is a marquee coach who comes along once in a blue moon. I don’t know if he’s interested but I think Cragg should go after him big time!!

It makes a lot of sense. I’ve seen a handful of St. John’s fans on twitter barking up the Beilein tree, and i bet they think stirring the pot and spreading this rumor might in some way help their chances. All the ones pushing pitino last offseason are now onto Beilein.

A couple things: Frank Haith is a pretty good coach, on pace to have his best record at Tulsa in 6 seasons. He's 56. I could see that he might want to leap to a better conference and more lucrative job.
But why would CMA leave St. John'sand the Big East after one season for the AAC?
To return t his Alma Mater, where he played two years?
Anything can happen but it seems a stretch.

Haith has only made 2 postseason appearances in his 5 years at Tulsa. It is Anderson’s alma mater! He might want to leave because of recruiting difficulties in this market.

This is as bizarre as the lf figueroa is going pro stuff. Mike Anderson has a real job in the big east. He has a nice class coming in next year. Hes not going anywhere.

Ah ok. I don't really know who these guys are on Twitter. Crazy how people have vendetta's. Just get a life.

To clarify the folks on Twitter were just throwing something they previously heard off the wall. The original instance was coming from someone with a vendetta.

People have to stop listening to anything he says. Maybe he should cover a team in the Midwest.

Per Zach
This St. John's season was simple to me: Lay the foundation, set the standard of work ethic and discipline. That has been done. Sure, you want more wins, but this is also the best new Big East has been. if you can't see positives, you're refusing to see them.

Another “expert” pushing nonsense. Yes, there are certainly positives and no one here remotely denies that but there are also negatives which are just as apparent. And to blame our collapses on the strength of the conference is as utterly ridiculous as blaming it on our “lack of talent.” When a team consistently loses games the way we have neither of those things are the reason. Just another hack who decided what we were before watching a game and now has to try to fit the narrative he helped create. And to add, there are certainly significantly more positives than negatives.
