Cincy Game

Nice win. Scary but they hung in.

Sampson in last game = Pres. Obama in first debate. Can't explain it. But, he came back big today, great job.

Obekpa was terrific too, he will be better and better I believe.

The stall offense is terrible, gotta chuck that. With Harrison in FT, I guess that was the rationale, but gotta get rid of it.

All in all, very positive win and things looking up.
 
Go figure. At the end of the game we were letting the shot clock run down instead of attacking. We did the same thing against Cincy last year. Fortunately the law of averages caught up w us. CO had 9 rebounds and I think 3 blocks. We looked better. I wasnt really looking foward to watching this game but turned out to be an enjoyable game. DLOs 3 at the end was sick.We needed this W .
 
HUGE HUGE win. I said we'd need to take one of Cincy or G'Town to get back on track. Well, we took 1 already. Taking down the #14 team at their house with the recruit they lost out on...LOVE IT!

Didn't you also say this team was "pathetic" after the Villanova loss and to give you "ONE" reason to be optimistic? Joe3, you have much to learn. ; )
 
great win for these kids! although I was ready to rip my hair out. We gotta do something about our end game execution. Our offense was horrific for the last 8 minutes of the game. I can't believe the open shots the we gave them at the end of the game. That being said we get out of there with a nice win. I hope we can build on this win and continue to stay strong on the boards.
 
I think these guys need to learn that maybe right now the way to win is with tough defense and boarding, not by out-running and gunning the opponent.
 
I've been sick with the flu for 4 days.....this win might just start me on the road to recovery!! :)

I got the flu when I got back from vacation 3 weeks ago and had it for 3 days but it took me over a week to recover.

It was freaking nasty. Never been so sore in my life. My hair hurt even
 
Tough game but they gutted out a big win against the #14 team in the country at their house....That's a quality win and something they can build on
 
the announcer made a good point about the cincy plays on offense..
why did they wait until the ed of the game to set high screens on Harrison for their guards, forcing
Obekpa to pick them up on a switch...glad it didn't happen earlier.
BTW, Obekpa would do better substituting jump shots for foul shots...I'm kidding but...
how hard can it be to shoot 100 fouls shots a day for everyone on this team
 
There were a number of poor shots taken down the stretch that aided Cincy's comeback, but Obepka's was probably the worst,. He should not be taking them that far out, and at that juncture, you want Harrison with the ball.
 
amazing to consider we did that without Branch.
they made their first run when we had Pointer at Point.
That's always scary.
Nice to know that without 20 from Harrison or Sampson, we can win a game anyway.

I know right? This has been a brutal one. I was back in NY for the holidays and by the time I arrived back in LA on the 1st, I was doomed. To all my fellow redmen.comers, get the flu shot if you haven't already!

While a win is undeniably important, it is still apparent that two things almost made this again, a horrible loss.

One, can Phil Greene not be allowed to dribble the ball until the 10 second mark? Two, can Steve Lavin show us he can Coach a game in progress?

Taking the air out of the ball with Greene at the point was a disaster and allowed Cincy TO ALMOST WIN THIS ONE.

Harrison has to have the ball, even if double teamed.. We were lucky to escape today. Very Lucky.. Playing 34 minutes of good basketball isn't enough.
 
Wasn't Obepka at one point supposedly going to Cincy. Glad he chose us instead.... :)
