There was word (amongst the insiders) for awhile that he was Cincy lean. The longer a recruiting situation lingers; the better it is for other schools involved. IMO, it's not in the best interest to give Lavin too much time to put his stamp on a recruit (if you're the opposition).
I've seen Nerlens Noel on the AAU circuit for the past two years, and Obekpa is on par with Noel when it comes to swatting shots. Obekpa seems to have impeccable timing. We would have one of the better (if not the best) shotblocking teams in the conference, if we were to land Obekpa. We're talking about Sanchez, Sampson, Garrett, Pointer and Obekpa. I'm not even including Chandler. Chandler isn't a premier shotblocker, but he seems to be a capable one.
All in all, we would have a very, very formidable frontcourt with Sanchez, Sampson, Chandler and Obekpa. Hopefully, things start to positively fall our way.
