I guess the staff decided the book wasn't closed on Obekpa. This staff is quite tough when they are able to get a kid on an official visit. We're talking about one of the top 3-5 recruiters in the nation in Lavin.

I'm actually a bit surprised to see us get Obekpa on an official when it seemed like the ship had sailed with him. Once again, this goes to show you the fluidity in the recruiting game.

IMO, I wouldn't be surprised to see Obekpa, Chandler AND Sanchez end up part of our 2012 recruiting class. That would be sick!

I'm not sure this has been posted, but check it out....

Chris Obekpa (considering UConn, St. John's, Providence, Cincinatti, Memphis, DePaul): If there wasn't a player by the name of Nerlens Noel, he'd be seen as the best shot-blocker in the country.

Where he should go: St. John's

Their havoc-causing pressure defense will play into his shot-blocking ability. His teammate, Felix Balamou, recently signed on with the Johnnies and the media attention of playing in New York never hurts.

wow!! very shocked at the visit, i really thought the opebka ship had sailed.....he and staff would not be meeting on a official if there isnt high intersted on BOTH sides...... i love our chances with lavin!!!

 If all 3 want to sigh then take all 3. Sanchez is only 2 years. Class of 14 he can be replaced by McCullough, unless he's seriously trying to get back into the class of 13.

Maybe we're just all overanalyzing his twitter vernacular. I've read at least 3 interpretations thus far. I'm good with whatever the staff feels they want to pursue.

Correct. I was told the same thing. Jakarr was visiting anyway and it was planned last week. It is unrelated to the Obepka visit.

The most cryptic message since the Delphic Oracle went out of business.

Mark Redman had the best response saying that whoever figured it out would get Obekpa.

Have a hunch Coach Lavin deciphered it and Obekpa will wear red in November.
 
 With Balamou on board, I always thought we'd land Obekpa until the recent twitter foray. Like I said though, it certainly could be misinterpreted as its not in my native tongue. Obekpa would be a real good defensive presence at center for us with Gift. Sanchez at the C/PF spot, Jakarr PF/SF, Amir and Sir'Dom SF. We'd be rolling.
