Charleston Classic

So much for a neutral site. That first game is going to be dangerous, especially for such a young team.

I also didn't want to draw the host school for the first game. If we had played them after advancing, then so be it. But, I wanted either BC or Auburn to tip-off the tournament. If we beat C of C (which I think we will end up prevailing), then I feel we're gonna end up in championship game.

Same here. No one should take that game lightly at all.

This tourney is looking like it might be one of the most competitive tourneys out there.

If SJU can get that first win in that kind of environment, it would do wonders for their confidence.

Anyone else notice the two non bracketed games on the bottom of the bracket? Seems odd to schedule games against teams that there is a chance you could play in the tournament. The only advantage I can see is that you get an extra neutral site game out of it but it could be the same opponent twice in a week.

thoughts?

It's some weird work around to get those additional games to count as part of the exempted tournament and therefore allow those teams to throw an extra game into their schedule, I think. Not sure why anyone would go for this type of arrangement, meaning powers that be.

Not really a big deal to me. Hard enough to fill out a schedule as is. Remember last year Marquette played some team multiple times.

Norfolk State.

To celebrate my wife's graduation into a new field (nurse anesthetist) I scheduled a trip to charleston for a quick getaway! Really excited to see our redman play! Been a while since I posted, follow boards daily, and I'm a little more optimistic than the average bear. Hungry coach, better depth and returning talent and with national media quickly dismissing us to add fuel, why can't we make a run at a solid run for an NCAA bid? (Sanchez looks like he's screwed. God the NCAA loves to pull our pants down!) but who knows.....
Pumped for tomorrow and for Thursday! Let's get it!

And for his anniversary Traczok is taking his wife to charleston for a quick getaway

I love how you married people think while making your wives think you are actually doing something for them :)

One thing I've learned about women is you can convince them to go to games fairly easily if you use a good concession stand menu as leverage.

It gets more expensive the older you get unfortunately. What was a good cheap date concession stand menu when you are younger turns into Del Frisco's as you get older and a good night is getting out the door with less than a $200 tab

I think it would be hilarious if your wife came on here and found out SJ was the primary motive LOL. To see her reaction would be priceless and would even make a great SJ promo commercial ;)

where do STJ fans go for drinks before and after games at the garden?

Depends. Mustang Sallys,Irish Times, or that place with the hot bartenders I think cafe31 or something like that.

We usually talk about where we are going to meet up on a thread here a day before the game

Haha. She's cool with it! Wasn't primary motive bc I always hear great things about Charleston :) and my wife's been there - she went to Clemson.
