Always matched up against bigger guys. Never lost his head, class act. One of my favs also. No brainer to extend scholly to him.

I wouldnt say its a no brainer. You don't extend just because he's the son of a fmr player.

That being said Lavin wouldn't know Charles Mineland from Charlie Chaplin.

I have trouble believing this kid wouldn't be a great addition to ANY college squad.

His pops was one of my all-time faves. It feels like it has been a while since we have had one of those 6' 6 or under power forward types that we were so known for during a stretch there. Tyrone Grant, Mineland, and Anthony Glover types (though the last one, I swear his numbers went down a notch every year and at 6' 4" may have been asking a bit much on a power forward tip).
 
@RHoopsRecruits: Congrats Charles Minlend, Jr. on winning a state championship with Concord First Assembly (NC) as well as making first-team all-state.
 
I agree, I would offer. When you watch his videos he actually looks like he would fit in well. Pretty athletic, can slash, and goes hard to the rim. Looks like he has a decent midrange jumper too. To me he's in the Pointer mold.

I would get him, unless the staff knows he's not interested in playing at his dad's alma mater.
 
If he has his dad's willingness to do the "dirty" muscle work and his focused
energy it would be great. Anyone know if there is any new interest either way?

Needs to work on his ballhandling
Charles is a 6'3" guard and made 1st team All State
Like his dad, he is very smart - 4.4 GPA out of a possible 4.5
Charles is very young - just turned 17 in December

If he's that young let him go to prep school,can't hurt. And think about it we don't have to worry about losing him academically.
