...Can we make the Tournament?

We have 2 of our last 3 road games coming up. I think we need to win one of the two to set ourselves up for a strong finish with 4 of last 5 at home (assuming no  UCONN home game). I don't care that much which one, although we are capable of winning both. With PC's point guard still out (assumption on my part), they have to worry about our pressure just like we have to worry about thier big guy down low.
Next 3 games: @ PC, @ Butler, vs. DePaul.

I'm feeling that if we can win tomorrow, we could easily be looking at 9-6 in the B.E. I know I shouldn't get ahead of myself but Butler and DePaul really isn't good.
To go from 1-5 to 9-6 would be unreal.

Here's to hoping.

I actually think for us to secure a tournament berth we need to win these next three games. No excuses. All three are very winnable games .

Hopefully we don't fall prey to the "Sports Illustrated jinx", in terms of all the positive press.  All justified  of course.
+1000 need to keep chip on shoulder and forget about rankings

Lunardi and most have Maryland in the tourney slightly ahead of us.  Maryland lost to penn st tonight.  We should jump then with a win tom.

Is it too early to play this game?

Not really, every game counts.  Let's handle ours though!

Hmmm I think I said in one of the first posts of this thread if it ended today we are a play in team. Too late for a career change?
Maybe put some predictions on wall street bets reddit site :)
My days of being a stock picker are behind me ;)

Have to think after a double digit Q2 road win we'll be on the right side of the bubble tomorrow in most brackets.

I know people have fun with this but unless you are Gonzaga or Baylor at this point totally meaningless need to be there at end of season obviously but it is nice after being 6-6 and facing the tough part of the schedule.

Bamafan - that's not the point. Our resume is 80% done at this point. It is only a good thing if bracketologists have us in a good position with our current resume. Obviously we need to finish strong, but the stronger our schedule is now the stronger it'll be on Selection Sunday. There is absolutely no downside to being on brackets today. In fact, if we weren't on brackets today that'd be a bad sign for our Tournament hopes.

7-6, yes?

If we make the tournament, all I ask is that we don't have to face Illinois in the first round. Cockburn just had another monster game today against a pretty good Wisconsin team. Hate to think what he might do against us.

Coach Anderson said he'd shake things up in the Big East. It's great seeing St John's already pursuing an invite to the NCAA Tournament. St John's will get better and better in the next few years.

It's not over yet. St John's still has to finish the season strong. Anderson has done a lot with only his 2nd St John's team.

Lunardi has us as sixth team out after the win, which is pretty surprising. I do wonder if he's using tomorrow's NET (NCAA is the only source of that since the formula isn't public). Unless Lunardi has access to the NET early, which is possible, then have to think they'll improve some tomorrow. I'm thinking high 50s or low 60s NET.

Thought we'd maybe be one of the last 4 in after this. Beating Butler will be good. I know they're bad and it won't be a huge boost to our NET but a strong road record on your resume can't be a bad thing. We're on a heater. Gotta keep it up.

Every game down the stretch will be important. Both Butler and DePaul have low NET rankings and we will go backwards with a loss regardless of where the game is played. Xavier is a great opportunity to move up and a nice win to add to our resume. We need to win at least two of the next three to put ourselves in a position to close out the season to earn a bid.

BTW - has there been any discussion of a make up for the UCONN game?
