Cam Mack Asks for SJU Release

As soon as Pitino comes we'll have Cole Anthony running the point. No need to fear, guys.

If you really want to win That is the only sure fired answer

Is it common for a player to sign at a school where he has no relationship with the head coach?

Highly doubt it, but not the point.

Way to support our kids. BTW, they are both great Johnnies and don't deserve this.
I love both kids. Way to try to translate tone from a 14 word sentence. **High Five**

Neither are PGs. You know that as well as I do.
Agree. They'd be 'out-of-position' in our 'position-less' system.
Lol.

We've excelled at both, neither feels satisfying

Just another coaching transgression in a litany of them committed by CM. But many suggest we should thank him for coming back to St. John's and "trying" to resurrect the program. Yeah, thanks for nothing. Not thanking him for the half assed way he went about his job. Forget the results it was the lack of effort that has me saying I'm happy he is taking his ball and going home.
Makes you wonder what Matt's role is in the de-commit, what he told him, etc. Matt had loose lips and leaked stuff before

I'm more concerned that if Pitino comes here, his recruits will be running the train before running the point. But as it's said in pro wrestling, it's all good if the referee isn't looking.

From a players stand point I would think it's not a great decision to leave a program in dire need for a PG. You are guaranteed 30 plus minutes a game in a major conference. If his plan is to just play one year and go to the NBA, St John's would be the perfect fit. Where else is he going to go in a major conference that will give him run of the point and that many minutes to showcase himself?

Agreed Rawdog, but there are usually other factors at play that we aren’t privy to.

Recruiting is a dirty business, even when there isn't actually cheating going on.

Appreciate what he did here, but Matt's always been about Matt.

If he lands at Nebraska I hope every Johnnies fan who kisses Matt’s rear end calls him out. Because I’ll have no doubt he was using our resources to plant this seed weeks ago. And his whole “I love SJU” schtick should fall on deaf ears from here on out.

Did you have a problem when Darien Williams de-committed from Iowa St in 2015 and followed Matt to SJU.

I could care less about Matt but whatever consequence is of Matt leaving falls in the lap of Chris Mullin. He doesn't work for SJU anymore and owes nothing to SJU.

Except Hoiberg was already going to the Bulls when Matt left.

No he hadn't. That is false.

I suspect the vast majority on this board is hoping the other guy with the initials "CM" asks for his release.
