@Butler, Wed., Feb. 26 , 9p, CBSSN

Not sure I'm following your logic. What was he brought in for then? They haven't even sniffed an NCAA bid in his 3 years and likely won't next year. Not sure how anyone could be satisfied.
Look let's be real. John Wooden or Rick Pitino couldn't win without BIG NIL dollars no matter how good they are. Without kmowing it's a fair guess their NIL $$ are a fraction of ours.

shocked at how Butler's season has turned out... honestly feel they have 2 BE level "go-to" scorers in Brooks and Telfort.... good BE role players in BIzjack, Screen and McCaffrey.... we know King is a serviceable piece off the Bench...

sucks that this away game is a Q2... vs a team that "can" compete.

Let’s just win tonight and the team gets steak at St.Elmo’s for the flight home!Win em all that’s goal. Also Gus Johnson still loved run from the cops speed back in the day! LFG we are ST.JOHN’S!

Unlike Sha, butler isn’t devoid of talent and their resources are fine. If he was doing a great job, they’d be on the bubble.
I moderately disagree with the second point. Their roster isn't bubble caliber imo. Brooks and Telfort are solid offensively but aren't super athletic and aren't great defensively. McCaffery another guy that will never be confused with a lockdown defender. Screen is a solid rim protector but a little awkward and can't keep up on the perimeter. They're actually over-performing their preseason KenPom rank right now.

Losing to Austin Peay and North Dakota St is inexcusable. It killed any chances they had. If they win those two, they'd be still probably not be that close to the bubble but I'd at least argue Matta's team matched their talent throughout the year.

Yeah, I don't think Matta has done a particularly good job with the roster construction or getting the most out of them, but unless Telfort or Brooks transformed into All American candidates I don't think that roster had bubble upside. Their periphery pieces just aren't good enough

My buddies Jeremy Bass and Jake Weitzen are two of the all time leading scorers in Bronx Science Basketball history. Jake went on to becoming top 10 in scoring at Tufts University for Basketball
Lappas' team allegedly won the City title at BHS of Science, hard to beleive the brainy boys could do that.

Also hard to beleive Lappas got in there. LOL

Looie said it all the time: My success is because of the players. All successful coaches say it, more or less, the same way.

The line about legendary coaches that:

He can beat you with HIS guys, and he can turn around and beat you with YOUR guys.

Let's face it, it is B.S., it might apply if the talent level is close, but Lombardi or Parcells aren't beating you if they have no real offensive and defensive talent.

Look, Rick is trying to win out without question. However, he will rest his banged up guys as much as possible while achieving that goal. In other words, don't expect 38 minutes from Kadary tonight. If we get off well and don't need him, he will sit.
That's what hoping for, kick their asses from the get go and rest Kadary and RJ. That's a win win for everyone.

To me it’s interesting how every pundit, opposing coach, etc says “if they hit some 3’s watch out.”

That’s a nice sentiment, but it’s missing the larger point and a very simple one.

We are a team that relies on DEFENSE, not the 3. There is beauty in that especially in today’s game. If we keep relying on our defense which has been our identity this team will continue its trajectory!
