Lappas is "ok" only because I heard him say that The Palestra was the Mecca of college basketball during a game once. I guess that he's never heard of a place named Madison Square Garden?
Surprising for a NYC guy who won an NIT championship at the World's Most Famous Arena/ The Mecca of Basketball.

They didn't ever hold the NIT at The Palestra.

Butler aren’t slouches. We saw #3 go down on the road to a bubble team ( Georgia) and #9 Iowa State lose to a team going nowhere (OK State).

There’s a banana peel to be stepped on here. If we bring our A game this is a 15+ point win. If we bring our C+ game we’re in for a dog fight boys. Think those 2 upsets are a great warning sign and hoping we come out of the gates ready to play!

Believe Butler has won 4 of last 5.

This team will go as far as Smith takes them. He takes so much pressure off the rest of scorers with him at full strength. Kadary and RJ creating and banging in the paint is hard work as seen by injury reports. Smith running the offense gets them better shots and less grinding. Sim and Scott get better spot up shots. Zuby free to attack glass.. Defense stays the same and elite coaching.. no one wants this matchup in march. sky is the limit.

They have, but it was against the softer portion of the Big East schedule.

Best team they've played in that stretch was Xavier, and that was the loss (by double digits). The wins were against Seton Hall, Providence, DePaul, and Georgetown.
It's still impressive. Everyone thought Matta was toast when he took the job. Turns out he's done a pretty fine job with limited talent.
