To me it’s interesting how every pundit, opposing coach, etc says “if they hit some 3’s watch out.”

That’s a nice sentiment, but it’s missing the larger point and a very simple one.

We are a team that relies on DEFENSE, not the 3. There is beauty in that especially in today’s game. If we keep relying on our defense which has been our identity this team will continue its trajectory!

True but that ignores the fact that competition will be greater in the tournament, close games will happen, and you can't win if you can't score. When they say "if they hit some 3's watch out" they are saying that the rest of the variables are very good to excellent. I have been happy to see the shooting get better the past couple games. It's not that they can't win shooting poorly, just that they're very difficult to beat if they're shooting well.

If we go into one of our shooting funks in tournament and we play a team that can shoot the three we will be in trouble.
If make a run in tournament eventually will run into team that can shoot so we will have to make shots to stay in game. That is what they are saying.

All I’m saying is we rely on defense and not the 3 and that is a rare thing to see. If that’s how we continue to lay down our marker in games then teams should “watch out” based on that alone. Because they won’t ever have seen this level of defense before in their lives!

Making 7-8 3’s a game is a great bonus don’t get me wrong lol.

I know that's what you're saying, but as you move up in weight class that might not be enough. Could be but I'd prefer the shooting buffer just in case.

Look, Rick is trying to win out without question. However, he will rest his banged up guys as much as possible while achieving that goal.
Is that the same Rick that brought Mormon back in the 2nd half of the Nova game and inexplicably and unnecessarily played him extensive minutes in the SH blowout? My experience following him as a coach is only one and three quarters seasons in so I'd like to chalk it up as an aberration. I'll believe he'll do the right thing and rest injured players when I see it.

WHEN we win tonight, the Big East and VAL better have the trophy ready to be presented to CRP and the captains Saturday after we crush The Hall! With our last game on the road, go right to mid court after the horn goes off for photos's. It would be epic!
I am actually planning on this... right? I remember they had the Trophy ready for Marq on the road some place when they clinched... or am i making this up?

My buddies Jeremy Bass and Jake Weitzen are two of the all time leading scorers in Bronx Science Basketball history. Jake went on to becoming top 10 in scoring at Tufts University for Basketball
That’s cool. They had some good teams during that time. I looked it up Bass played at Haverford.

They both played for Coach Bacote who was the coach from 1978-2009. He is in the NYS Basketball Hall of Fame.

The best Science player that I am aware of was a little before your time, Craig Carter. He played in two NCAA tournaments and an NIT for Rutgers as the sixth man in the late 80’s/early 90’s under Bob Wenzel. He has been a long time assistant coach and is now the director of basketball at South Kent.

I think it matters a lot actually.

Could effect Florida seed line, could put Georgia into the tournament, and puts a wrench into the top 5 AP poll
I just meant that a lot of people say the AP poll doesn’t matter, I know the wins will matter

I understand, but until Marquette beats us in the 2nd meeting, again in the BET, and then in the Final Four, I'll blindly follow Rick

Mormon has to be your worst nickname in 20 years. I can usually follow your nicknames, but that one had me completely lost.

It’s going to be Epic

Sold out MSG on Senior night against the Hall. Who’d have guessed

Very true but you forgot the MOJO factor. It’s not quantifiable but it’s there

mjmaherjr first college team was in like 82 the Houston cougars phi slams jamma. Loved that team till I guess 84 or 85 then casually rooted Johnnie’s after that but I’d have never joined a website to talk Johnnie’s ( I know it didn’t exist ) until 87 my first Johnnie’s game in person.

We are going to play Houston at some point this tourney and we will beat Houston. Way too many things coming full circle this year . It’s Destiney
