Shouldn't have to be yelling at one of your captains to get on the floor for loose balls and give more effort on defense
Should not have been made a captain. Never understood that choice. Captain should be reserved for players who have been playing for the team, not for a player who had yet to play one minute for the team

While in normal circumstances I would agree but in this case:

  1. Kadary has more college experience than anyone on the team in terms of College games played and years (Smith has the same amount of time but not games)
  2. The longest tenured players in terms of years at St. John’s are two sophomores, a Junior transfer and a Senior transfer all of whom have been here one year and only the Junior transfer has been with Pitino more than a year.

Maybe part of the contract 🤣

Richmond is slow, lazy, can't shoot past 10 feet, can't finish at the rim, is a turnover machine, and plays lousy defense. He throws more bad passes than good passes. Other than that he's an all-American candidate to some. Our starting backcourt should be Smith and Wilcher, the forwards should be Scott and Luis with Zuby at Center. If you have to start Richmond, it should be at a forward position. But he has not earned the right to start over Scott or Luis. He is definitely not worth whatever his NIL amount is.

Boheim, Willard, Holloway, and Pitino were all pretty sure he was a key to success for their teams.

But he fails the Bovino test so off to the glue factory with him! What do those coaches know anyway?!

I saw Pinzon putting an ice pack down his shorts. Groin?
I didn't see him get hit there but in attendance it was obvious. He was holding that area, obviously in pain, but trying to be very as discrete as possible, which was impossible to do.

He looked very solid in the first half, confident and mature. He is a very nice kid who I'm sure got frustrated with the situation here when he blasted Anderson. No question he can play at this level and that hurt his opportunities. High game last season was 35.

A little harsh, but I feel a lot of this is true thus far, but there's a disconnect between what he was in the past and this year (so far). Those who say "wait till the BE games that count" may be right, but that on/off mentality bothers me. I just think for whatever reason he's not into it and somewhat going thru the motions, which is bad and detrimental. Hopefully I am proven wrong and he does liven up and boost his game when the "real" games start.

Unfortunately I don't believe Al was being harsh but rather speaking the truth.
I fully agree with everything else you wrote and I hope that I too am wrong.
