Bronx Bombers 2017 Season Thread

Really nice job by both CC' s tonight, including Chris Carter. Not a big fan of either, but have to give credit when it's due.

Were you a big fan of CC when he carried the Yankees in the 2009 WS year?

a road win.
the lineup continues to dominate. 13 hits, 2 home runs, 1 double, although done against 4 terrible pitchers.
cc for 6 innings - no extra base hits, no walks, no runs. although done against a lineup last in baseball in runs scored with only 3 guys hitting above jarvis' weight.
judge solidifying his mvp status at the 1/4 mark, including a stolen base.
CC Sabathia is now 20-11 with a 3.11 ERA against Kansas City in his career. He is 13-5 with a 3.42 ERA at Kaufman Stadium. "It is my favorite park," Sabathia said.
Best run differentials in MLB: 1. Yankees +59 2. Astros +58 3. Nationals +57. Worst: 30. Padres -68 29. Giants -58 27. Royals, Pirates -42

Sure. But not the extension. Always worried about his weight and the affect on his legs and knees.

I'd sign CC to a two year deal worth 7-9million each as the 4th or 5th starter.
Do NOT give Tanaka an extention, he f'ing suck.
Ya gotta earn it Tanaka.

I'd like to see a big bounce back sweet at KC after losing 3 of 4 vs. Houston.

This should be CC's last year in pinstripes. Thanks for your contributions. Yankees' turn to opt out.
Would definitely re-sign Tanaka, based on this year's performance.

Bringing back CC really depends on if Tanaka opts out of not. He would be a cheap plug starter.

Possibly Tanaka, CC & Pineda all free agents after the year. The free agent starters are very much not sexy.

2 more contenders with judge for 1/4 season al mvp - castro & yankees lineup.
16 hits, 3 extra base hits. yanks beat a good starting pitcher.

off season - plan a group - tanaka, plan b group - pineda, plan c group - cc - cc required to avoid the rubber chicken circuit.

Another night with too many strikeouts and poor hitting with RISP, but I'll take where they stand any day. Give credit to Duffy.

got beat by a notch above average pitcher.
kc was clutch. yanks were not.
yanks made 12 out with runners in scoring position.
kc scored 2 with 2 walks, 2 singles. another 3 with single, walk, ballentine blast.
yanks trying to get away with young monty as a starter.

folks - this is a sju basketball board. no mma stuff.
now lets get back to yankee baseball. ;)

what did you guys think about Arod in the booth ?

Calling the game he was good for his first time.
I could live without the self depreciating things he did over and over again. Talking about how he couldn't catch or wasn't good at certain things. He's one of the best ballplayers to ever live. It's just stupid he has to resort to that stuff

I thought he was ok for the first time. Very knowledgeable about the Yankees and baseball stuff. Some rough edges that can be worked out. Best of all, he was not overbearing and intrusive with his observations.

imvho the home plate ump shrunk the strike zone. especially for severino in the first 3 innings & later for warren.
because of the small strike zone severino's pitch count forced him out in the 6th. he could/should have given the yanks 2 more innings.
rays scored 3 runs on infield grounders that saw the holes.
rays did have a barrage of doubles.
i'm going to today's game.

tampa metro area - 18th largest in usa
rays - last in mlb attendance in both 2015 & 2016
usf basketball (located in tampa) - 2015 - 9th in 11th team conference - 3453 average attendance - 49k students
