Bronx Bombers 2017 Season Thread

That's a big surprise. Why give up a date late in the season when the afternoon forecast today shows some brightening and sun.
 
Dumb move by the Yanks to cancel this afternoon's game so early. Easily could have been played. I guess they figured an extra day of rest would be good for Tanaka.

Yep, where was the storms, unless they meant a drizzling storm.
 
hopefully tonight we saw the "real" tanaka.
bullpen melts again.

Just like that, Masahiro Tanaka looks like he's fixed whatever was ailing him. Tonight, he threw 38 two-strike pitches, 20 of them splitters outside of the strike zone, and he got 12 swings resulting in five of his 13 total strikeouts on them. Every single one of those numbers represented a season high for him. It's like a totally different version of Tanaka showed up tonight, so hey, get him back in there and hope it lasts.
 
the yankees lineup & bullpen were carrying them for much of the short season,
with the starters lacking.
now the lineup is more cold than hot. the bullpen has been roughed up
and the starters have been hot. its a holiday.
 
Wow, this offense is stagnant. They continue to be near the top of the Majors for strikeouts. Starters have been real good lately. Getting concerned about the walks from Clippard.

Judge with the GS.
Torreyes is a good hitter, I'd start him there over Headley for now 2-3 with 2 runs scored. If he keeps it up, then 3rd base is his.
Pineda is now 6-2 with a 3.32 ERA, he's finally putting it all together.

Well now we're going to be tested:
3 @ Balt, 4 @ Tor, 3 vs. Bos, 3 Vs. Balt then a 6 game west coast trip.
4-3 on the road, 4-2 at home =8-5

@ Ana, @ Oak. Both are under 500 but Anaheim is 15-8 @ home and Oakland is 15-10 so both are tough at home so I'd take a split and go 3-3
So 11-8 altogether, I'll take it, it's looking like our toughest stretch of the season.

a good oriole pitcher used all of the ball park to get yankee outs
2 unearned runs by the o's
o's offense was in deep slump last 7 games
all rise did it again.
 
Need to get tomorrow 's game so Orioles stay down. Don't need them to get a life at the expense of the Yanks.
