Bronx Bombers 2017 Season Thread

By the way, I really don't like this weekend's uniforms, hats and sox. I am real traditionalist, especially when it comes to tbe Yankees.

Why did we ever sign this carter, the guy really sucks.
0-3 with 2 Ks batting 188.
Yeah i know 41 hr last year, but only 4 through 2 months this year.

We haven't won a series in Baltimore since 2012, lets win these next 2 games.

Tough when you really don't play everyday to get in a groove. Lately he's played more consistently but he's been playing catch up all year. When Austin is ready someone will have to go and likely will be Carter

Greg Bird should be coming back soon too, Carter has to go.
I'd even give Torreyes more time at 3rd, Headley is doing much either.

Carter was signed to be the occasional platoon righty bat and give pop off the bench. At a one year low money deal it was worth the risk for a guy who led the NL in homers. Because of Birds and Austins injuries he has been thrust into an everyday role, which was never anticipated. As someone who watched Holliday a lot in the NL, you don't want him playing first too much - below average fielder and injury risk. Let him continue to DH and be a solid middle of the lineup bat. Carter is only a place filler until the youngins are back

MVP has to be split tonight, Matt an Brett.
Big game by Luis tonight.

Need Tanaka to pitch big tonight, we haven't won a series in Baltimore since 2012.

road win against al east contender.
gardner continues his power surge.
mvp candidates castro & judge continue hot bats.
bravo severino - comeback pitcher of year
hicks - comeback player of year.
the great 1b experiment continues with refsnyder the latest.
have a holiday.

Agreed. It would be nice to get the series and win going to Toronto.

I wonder when Sanchez will hit for power?

One would think it would be Sanchez not the Mighty Quinn, I
Mean Mr. Judge with 17 big ones...

Wrong there SSG

Judge is 6'7 285lbs, he's a TE in Football. A man that size you expect to hit with power.

Another guy not to miss when he's hitting.

2 months down, 4 months to go

team stats in ml
hitting - 2nd - home runs, on base %
4th - slugging,,,,,,,,,,,,,5th - batting avg, runs
pitching - 2nd in batting avg against,,,,,,,,4th - era
2 month al mvp - judge/castro
comeback poy - hicks
comeback pitcher of year - perhaps cc over severino

its a 2 man race for starting al all star 2nd base - go castro

the al east could/should produce the 2 wild card teams. if the yanks are one of them, then who will be the starting pitcher in that one game playoff? i thought/hoped for tanaka, but 3 of 4 terrible starts.

Sanchez with 2 HRs
Hicks with 4 hits avg up to 317, and 6 RBIs
CC won 4 straight starts for first time time since 2012

Pineda tomorrow.

Interesting. Ellsberry is the 4th outfielder looking in.

OSR
trying to keep my expectations in check - pre season I'd be happy with .500
Certainly creating a fine & unexpected year!
Go Yanks!

Go St. John's!

Think about it. Had we lost Ellsbury at this point last year, it would have been a disaster, because Aaron Hicks would have replaced him.

This year, it's OK when Ellsbury goes down, because Aaron Hicks is replacing him. Quite simply, Hicks is having one of the greatest one season turnarounds I've ever seen.
