BRACKETOLOGY, RPI, SOS

Lunardi still has us in, despite the loss. All this doom and gloom not 100% warranted IMO, just a bad game, we will bounce back

It feels as though our chances of making the tourney are reliant on other bubble teams losing down the stretch. Some good results for us tonight:
George Mason over Richmond. (Richmond - first 4 out)
Iowa State over West Virginia
Arizona over Cal. (9 seed)
Illinois over Nebraska (next 4 out)
Texas over Baylor. (10 seed)

Bad results:
Tennessee over Mississippi St.
LSU over Texas A&M

Overall, not a bad night.....

DePaul should not be taken lightly on Sunday.
The good thing is they will have a few good days practice to prepare
and it will be urgent.

Minnesota over Iowa also a bad result

Plus I assume Okla State is going to lose this weekend to Kansas, which would help. I think if we beat DePaul, we will stay in the last four in going into next week.

If we can't beat the worst hogjt major team out there we shouldn't even get a cbi invite

I agree with you, but we've had almost a week to prepare, we are on a two game losing streak, it is desperation time, plus I'm sure the guys are still angry with themselves about the first game.

This culmination of factors leads me to believe we win this game handily.

Exactly, as pointed out, the bubble is very weak this year. I was tracking a lot of those scores last night as well, a bunch of bubble teams went down, so we remain in the hunt.

Thank you, and out of all these games we really need Oregon to lose.

I'm going to Fordham game and they stand no chance haha. Looking forward to another blowout of SJU like proportions for Pecora.

Pretty good night for St. John's last night:

-Richmond took a bad loss against George Mason
-Nebraska was in a "need to win out" type scenario before last night's loss to Illinois
-NC State came dangerously close to getting right back in the conversation losing to UNC in OT
-Baylor missed their opportunity to get a bid locking win against Texas

Some how Lunardi has us at the very last team with a 62 RPI

Our RPI dropped 10 spots with the Xavier loss?

Of course. And Xavier jumped 14 spots up.

Can't lose home games. The home losses gets multiplied by 1.4 in the RPI formula

Actually ESPN has is at 62. The actual NCAA hasn't updated theirs yet. This day in age and the NCAA only updates their RPI once a week?

I guess I'm surprised since we were so close in RPI that is fluctuated that much. Would have expected that if we lost to Hall or Butler or DePaul

To me we gotta win these last 2 games. I`m sure we could take it to Saturday night, but not sure of SJU winning the B.E. tourny.
That would give us 22.

Maybe rest Obekpa for the Marquette, there is no doubt that we should beat DePaul even without him.
That would give him 1 1/2 to rest for Marquette, which is gonna be a freaking HUGEEE game.

If Obekpa can play he has to play. We're in an "all hands on deck" situation now. I don't care how lousy DePaul is.

Depaul just beat Seton Hall...How much better are we? If CO can play, then he should....if Depaul wins, and CO is being saved for Marquette, how stupid will Lavin look?

According to ESPN last night Lunardi has us as one of the first four in, along with Minnesota, Tennessee, and Providence. Glad to see North Carolina State and even Perdue lose.
